They called twice again today...AOL is really a pest to deal with.  I called my phone company and they said that AOL is well known to be a problem and that I need to file a formal complaint with the FTC.

I've been getting calls since last month from this number.  I never pick up but they call as often as 5 times a day.  Sometimes as early as 7am and as late at 10PM. I agree, it could be AOL since these calls started just about the same time I dropped their service.  I wonder if they'll ever give up?

I heard about this number on the radio this morning.  Its been calling my business all week hassing my mechanics that they owe them money.  It's Mac Tools and apparently they're account records are so bad, they've got collection agencies after them for no reason.  Even the local mac tool guy said they're going out of business soon and having some real accounting problems.  I see this phony number is used by many business who don't want people to know who they really are.  It's a very unprofessional way to do business in my opinion.

calls from this number all week...sometimes 3-4 times a day.  My son picked up and after speaking with someone, handed the phone to me.  It was AOL with some offer.  Very annoying company...I left them several months ago and they still keep calling using different numbers.

I got a call last night from this number.  It was PayDay Loans looking for someone I knew who is late on their payment.  I guess she gave my name as a reference on the application.  These people were VERY RUDE.  They were almost threatening me that if I don't get in touch with her to have her call them. The even told me about her credit history and other information that I thought was confidential!  I looked up the number they gave to call them and it was legit.

Wow, I've heard the horror stories about AOL, especially after people left them and thought it was one of those urban legends.  I moved 4months ago and change my service.  They've been calling ever since using several numbers not only because they're still trying to charge me on one side, while their other departments call to try and get me back.  It's worse than a nightmare!

Ever wonder how they get your number?  You're on the National Do Not Call list yet the calls keep coming.  Here is one trick.  When making a purchase at the checkout counter and the clerk asks for your phone number, don't give it out or give out a phony number.  Retailers sell these to marketing companies which now have your name, phone number and the items you purchased.  Because you voluntary gave them your number, you're open to marketing calls.  If the clerk tells you it's to verify your credit card...they're lying.  Credit Card companies do not use phone numbers.  I've used a phony number for years and my credit card purchases still go though.   I'ts very rare that I get telemarketing calls.  If I do, they're usually zapped by "Phone Tray".  It's free software available from http://www.phonetray.com/.

I knew it... its WINN DIXIE!

Winn Dixie is selling phone numbers to all these
scumbags. They insist you have a winn dixie card
to get groceries on sale, and if you dont have the
card, they want your phone number!
Toys R Us also asks for your phone number.
Lets all Boycott Winn Dixie and Toys R Us
until they stop this phone number lying nonsense!
We want our share of money they make off
selling that info. how about that, they get it free,
then sale it. Doesn't seem right to me.
We should start Charging them for the information
in advance. ANd say That Information is For Sale,
I do not give it out free of charge!
make them PAY for the Info! They should NOT get it free!
stop the madness.

Rec'd ph call from 000-000-0000 at 10:10 am, C.S.T., got to logging it now.

Folks, when you see numbers of this sort, don't even bother wasting your time. There are nothing but insidious dirt-bags concealing their true identity at the other end.

Google has virtually an endless plethora of complaint listings if you care to check:

This all zeroes number has shown up on the caller id for my boyfriend's cell.  It even called at 3:34 AM last month!  My boyfriend's ex called a couple years back, and it showed up 000-000-0000, likely from her blocking it.. So you can imagine my thoughts when I seen the number again at 3:34 AM.  He said no way he hadn't heard from her in 2 years.  But the call time on the bill said 2 minutes!  I was convinced he was cheating until he reminded me how I went to Walgreens at 3 AM last month to get diapers for the baby! I had called him to tell him about the cops pulling me over wondering what I was doing out so late. You know, sometimes Alltell screws up and any old number will show up as all zeroes; I've seen it happen on his phone.  Needless to say our relationship is still going strong!!  lol

That was completely off subject ..But anyway this number could be ANYONE.  Telemarketers, blocked calls, regular calls!!!

In the past week we have had this freakin' number show up on caller ID about every 10 minutes.  I'm on a no call list.  Is there someplace besides this to complain?
