i've  been getting calls from this # for months now..i'm never home to ansewr the phone so when my machine picks up they leave a recording...and it always about lowering my interest rate and my time will soon expire so i have to take advantage now...they called again today so i picked up phone..when i said "hello" the recording said, "that is the wrong answer"  then preceeded to tell me that i am eligible to lower my credit card interest rate...that there is nothing wrong with my credit card account but i must take advantage of the lower rate now as it will soon expire...said to press 1 to speak with a rep and press 3 to cease the calls...so i pressed 3 lol

Got this today, something about raising credit limit but does not say who's credit, says to press 1 to talk to someone or press 3 to be takin off their call list, I didn't press 3 for fear of what it might do, but does it really  take your number off? This would be nice to know since I really never get a real person from this number and I get it at least once a week.

I have resorted to pressing "3" and quickly say "remove this number, it's past 30 days".  Then they do get the message, they know they can legally be fined if they call again.

000-000-0000 is associated with phone number 608-201-1868, and the guy's name is John.  I got him to call with an unlocked number by answereing the phone and telling whom ever was on the other end things that they should and could have done sexually to their mother.  This guy John calms I said it to his 17 year old daughter.  Ahhh, my pitty does not go out to such an idiot.  I did report him to verizon for calling a private cell.  So have fun with the idiot.

received a call from this company... one of numerous. When i answered, they gave me a speel about lowering my credit card, my account is okay now... I don't own a credit card. This has bee a nuisance, so when asked if I wanted to speak to someone (press 1), I did. It was a company called MCS Credit. When someone came on the line and asked if I wanted to apply for a credit card, I said no I wanted to be removed from there call list. The phone was immediately hung up... is this legal? I wish I could get a hold of someone at this company.

I have an answer for all these unwanted telemarketing calls, from what ever the number may be. Yes, I've had the odd 000-000-0000 call too.  If you have a phone service where you can forward the unwanted call, all you have to do it redirect it to your local police department and let them deal with it.  After all, it's a form of harassment.  I have a VOIP phone and I have been doing this for the past year.  Amazingly, I never get another call from that particular number again!  And I know because it shows on my online call log if the number phones and is redirected.  Yahoo...right back at them!  I just look at it as free entertainment (just wondering what their response is when the police answer the call).

Good general rule of thumb - but do check for voicemail.  Got a call from this number and it was Blockbuster.  Their computer did leave a message telling me I had an overdue video checked out.  I assumed from the odd number that it was someone selling something and skipped the message until I almost bought the video by default...which wouldn't have been a huge deal since it was a good movie, but I digress.

If I could sum up for folks...these calls are either from a computer-generated messaging system = why it hangs up when you answer, or from someone who doesn't think you'd want to answer if you knew who it was...no conspiracy, rather the cell phone equivalent of "number unavailable" and/or the human population being replaced by machines.  Wait, that is a conspiracy.

    memo
This is a generic number MANY companies use with their electronic messages.  We're always late returning videos/dvd's/games to Blockbuster and this number pops up whenever they call with a reminder to bring back the delinquent items.  It's an electronic reminder so it makes since that you can't call the number back.  If you don't want that number to call you then the best thing to do is pay your bills on time or return rented items on time.  Pretty simple....doesn't bug me one bit.  I'm very busy and need the reminder. :o) As far as the person who's father doesn't use his Blockbuster account...I'd be more worried about who IS using his account instead of complaining about why they called.

call me all the time, never answer, so now i either don't answer it or i pick it up and hang up without ever saying a word, especially if my baby is sleeping so they don't kept ringing the phone.  My mom also gets them at her house.
We both have verizon phone service.

Attn. 2 can play this game.. If you forward the number to the police department.. the police will think it's you doing the scam.. It will be your number that comes up on their display and it will be traced back to you. I would like to do that aswell but I don't think it would be prudent.

This number. {000-000-0000} calls my house about 2 or 3 times a day.. Once I picked up and it sounded like some middle-east man. He was trying to sell me something and I told him never to call back.. I'm sure they will anyway... I don't understand why they keep calling people when they know they will not sell any product/service after the household has been annoyed and tells them not to call back.. Why would I purchase anything at this point?? I pay BELL about $6.00 a month (approx.) to stop this crap but BELL is full of cr*p.. it keeps happening.

I received a bunch of calls from this number during the summer of '07. Usually no one left a message. One time I finally answered one of the calls. It turned out to be the Romney Campaign to notify me of a local campaign event. I told the caller that it really disappointed me and lowered my opinion of this campaign that they would feel the need to "hide" their identity on caller ID by using a bogus number.  I requested that they not call back; they honored my request.  I never received another call from them.

Think about this:  When you forward a number to the police station, the police have your number showing up on their caller ID, so they will think you are responsible for the call.  You could get in trouble by doing this. It might be better to record the call and then take it to the police.

Got a call from this number 1-000-000-0000... they left a message!  It was Blockbuster reminding me to return some movies.  The time on my caller ID matched up exactly with time on the message.  Guess they don't want you to call them back.

They call us about twice a month. If we don't pick up there is an ignorant message left on our machine saying "this is our final notice...." They have been told to "F%$# &^%" several times. I think the next time, I will waste as much of their time after I press 1 as I possibly can. They want credit card info (like I'm going to give that out to a moron that can't get a REAL job.)
