Well I just watched FRINGE maybe the Gov is calling
(long pause) LOL, I have an answering machine and let it pick up the "0 caller" and heard the phone hang up, today they called again (OOoooo scary) and again I heard them hang up. So I called the operator and she told me it was a telemarketing call.
After hanging up with the operator I was suddenly sucked back to Radio Shack about 2 years ago when I seen a ID caller blocker that you connect IN LINE so that when YOU call out nobody knows your ID. Now I dont know what you see when somebody on the receiving end would see on their ID caller but this might be some thing to think about, well the government calling to mess with your mind seems more fun. Whats an even bigger twist is that civilians come up with all the scary stuff, not the gov!

Three calls over a 24-hr period, the 2nd asking by name for my adult son who lives elsewhere.  Female caller with strong, unindentifiable accent said she was calling from/re the Navaho Relief Fund in Fladstaff, AZ. Subsequent caller hangs up when I answer, which I won't continue to do.

I am contacting my Verizon Wireless to figure out to handle this. they call every night about 2am. i turn the ringer off before bed.
I have answered it twice and they hang up as soon as i answer.
FYI: if u have a Verizon account and they do not YOU pay for their phone call. this is the situation I am in.

a (000) 000-0000 number on a caller id is one of three things for certain:

1. a large loan, like a student loan or the like that has been forwarded to a MAJOR collection agency, like Allied or Amalgamted, anyone defaulting on private school loans, like Sallie Mae or the like.

2. Parole or Probation offices in some states use this to call their paroles or people on supervised release in the federal system. This happens quite often so convicted felons of parole or the like dont screen calls from the p.o.

NCO Financial uses this method as well. Companies like Sears, Macy's, private clinics and hospitals use NCO, even unpaid subscriptions to magazines. NCO is bar far, considered in the industry, the absolute worst debt collector.

Sallie Mae, if you default, you are pretty much screwed. They use a local agency at first, evidentally, and then move on to straight lawyers of the like. Sallie Mae actually OWNS some of the countries largest collection agencies. That isn't necessarily a bad thing. Since they are not really considered third party through proxy, they would be more willing to negotiate payments, then lets say someone hired out independently by a coroporation or let's say VISA or god bless you, American Express....

If anyone needs help with 000-000-0000 numbers, defaults or other pertaining info, email me I would be more than willing to lend my expertise in the field. Believe me, any info to get you through can help, and its free so.

I just received a few calls from this number and ignored them b/c I dont answer any unknown numbers. But then I received a test message from my cousin telling me that she was calling from work and to pick up. And just for the record she does NOT work for the FBI, she works for a collections agency and that is the way the numbers come up.

(Unknown Name) 000-000-0000 has been calling us quite often. Just about every day, sometimes several times a day. We've never picked up, and the caller never leaves a message. But I'm getting so peeved by this I'm tempted to answer it next time and tell whoever it is off.

But anyway, what prompted me to look up this number just now was when they called two times in a row a few moments ago, and the second time, while no message was left, I could hear this weird garbled mumbling underneath the away message. It almost sounded spooky, but I couldn't make out any of the words. (And as usual, they just hung up when the away message ended.) I've never noticed this any of the previous times they have called.

Nonetheless, I'm getting angry. I don't understand why they keep calling, whoever they are, because we quite obviously aren't inclined to answer a number we don't recognize, and if we do, there's no way we'll be interested in anything these suspicious callers have to say.

Anyone calling from "000-000-0000" or "012-345-6789" "123-456-7890" and so on, are calling frm a VoIP connection fo some sort. There are many causes of it..   I can get the same thing if i call my home phone from my Skype line, sometimes it is a sting of sequentials, or all 0's, or sometimes it's unknown. Point is, all you can do, is tell them to put you on their DNC list, or, as I do, demand a supervisor, demand a callback #, and demand the company's contact information, including legal department. IF they give you that info, you are sure to have yourself removed. If not, they are going to hang up on you, and not bother you for a while.

I actually work at a call center where we call for different insurance companies and when we call this nmber shows up on caller i.d. We are not calling to soliciate or sell anything. These people have signed up for the insurance so they are pretty much asking for a call. My advise to you is to answer the call and see what they want. It might be important, and if it's not and you want it to stop, then tell them not to call you in again in a calm manner. And I can almost guarentee it's going to stop. If you tell them to call you back, or that the person they are looking for is not availible or you simply don't answer, I promise they will keep calling.

If it were that important, they could surely leave a message.
