000-000-1111

This number just called, thats what it said on my caller ID anyway. The call was just nothing, just silence. It hung up after I said "hello". It calls frequently during the day but this is the first time I picked it up.

Computer voice just said "Sorry, wrong number."

They just started a few days ago and the only time i picked up i hear "Sorry, wrong number" from what sounds like a recording.

Got a call from this number at 12:37am.......no message.....didn't answer.  Call was made to my cell phone.

Just got a call.  Recording says sorry wrong number.  Who the hell is this?  This stuff creeps me out.

I got a text like this once and there was a $9.99 charge on my bill just from opening it.

IDK  I assume it is a data mining procedure  but I got one also  6:15 P.M Pacific

The call came in at 10:52am PT to my work line, "Sorry, wrong number" via electronic voice.  I know it's nothing, but it kinda weirds you out.

Just got one. 7:05pm EST on my cell phone. Computer voice "Sorry wrong number". I do not think it is "nothing" from the number of responses above. Some kind of information mining?

Just got the call from 000-000-1111 and my guess is that it is phishing for information or phone systems that it can try and hack into. There was a weird computer voice that said "Sorry wrong number".

Also just got a call just now at 12:20 P.M. from this #. Did not answer, no voicemail left. Very strange.

Exactly 7:00 a.m. this morning. Was still asleep. (It is Sunday). Was a woman's voice saying "Sorry wrong number"  Looks like quite a few people are getting the same call. Wonder what it is all about. Very strange and a little disturbing.

This call is being made from the Skype Messenger service. Skype is a computer software which allows for people to call and send text messages, after "loading" their account with money through an internet currency transfer system, such as Paypal.

The number will almost always be displayed as 000-000-1111, and if not, it will be displayed as 000-000-0000.

Three out of a number of most probable reasons as to why someone would call you with Skype would consist of

Wrong number.
Checking if the person they intended to connect to was there.
Intention to humor themselves.

Among other reasons, as well.

Same call no voice mail  thought for sure it was a hoax.

I got my first call today... Electronic Voice saying "wrong number"
Scares me, I've heard about services that allow people to listen in through your cell even when it is not being used..... I would love to know exactly what this is.

Same thing as everyone else. ATT, Los Angeles.
