Received a call today at 10:05AM that showed as "Out of Area", and the phone number showed "6000".  I have to say, this is the first time I've seen this before.  An internet search turned up nothing.

I have to say - having a number display on call ID as "6000" is a new trick as far as I'm concerned.  I have been receiving calls from a number of other random 800 #'s recently - hard to say if the two are related.

I received a call from "6000" recently as well.  I have never received a call from a 4-digit number prior to this, nor did I know it was possible.  Is this a scam?

I've received two call's from 6000.  The first one was April 25th and the other was just moment's ago.  I didn't answer either one.  Someone who was with me on the 25th received the call about one hour after me, she was left an unusual message also.

I just got a call from this number and did not answer.  The voicemail only caught the tail end of whatever message started at pickup and it was in english saying something about reactivating an account. Screams scam to me.

Just got a call from "6000" at 14:15 today, COLORADO.  This was on my employer-provided phone.  The message was a computer voice in English -- something like "Hello, we have recently suspended your ATM card.  Press 1 to talk with someone on our security team."

After a few seconds, the caller hung up.

My call was from 600-0 on my cell saying my debit card was de-activated (it's not) and to press 1 for options.  I hung up, but I assume it was going to ask me for the card number, expiration and security code so they could "re-activate" the card - and log it for their own use.

I got a call from a 6000 phone number this morning, it was an automated message saying something about my debit card (they either said it was deactivated or it was rejected), and to press 1 to talk to someone on their team. I decided to hang up.

I received a call from "6000" today.  My iPhone glitched out when answering, so I don't know what they were trying to get at.

Received calls from 6000 (missed the call) and 6004 (picked up the call) and these were legitimate callback calls from the California Department of Motor Vehicles, from their Virtual Hold System where one leaves their phone number and full name and they get called back later instead of waiting on hold.
