Pete - 30 Jan 2008Received a call today at 10:05AM that showed as "Out of Area", and the phone number showed "6000". I have to say, this is the first time I've seen this before. An internet search turned up nothing.
I have to say - having a number display on call ID as "6000" is a new trick as far as I'm concerned. I have been receiving calls from a number of other random 800 #'s recently - hard to say if the two are related.

Bob - 8 Apr 2008I received a call from "6000" recently as well. I have never received a call from a 4-digit number prior to this, nor did I know it was possible. Is this a scam?

Kayla - 5 May 2008I just recieved a call from the number "6000". I didn't answer because I found the number to be too unusual. The number left me a voicemail, but I am unable to understand it because it is a automated voice, and it is speaking rapidly in spanish.

sunshine - 6 May 2008I've received two call's from 6000. The first one was April 25th and the other was just moment's ago. I didn't answer either one. Someone who was with me on the 25th received the call about one hour after me, she was left an unusual message also.
