I did not sent it, but it showed up on my first Verizon voice plan bill as a text message sent on the day of activation.

i believe it is the number the sales rep. dials to make sure your phone is working properly

i think this is the number that verizon gives new phones.
cuz when my friend got a new phone, it said this was their number
before their real number appeared

Get calls from 000-000-8888 and 000-000-9999 at least 5 times a day and all hours of night. I am very annoyed and cannot find any information on who it is. When I answer it just beeps over and over.

Calls about every 5 minutes for an hour, sometimes goes on for several days.  No clue who, only fax beep.

Yeah same here i cant figure it out and its starting to get creepy....

We are a business and we get calls from this number alot.  It is coming in own two of our outside lines.  It just beeps (very loudly) like a fax machine  and actually sometimes there is a recording saying that it is a fax and that we need to press the line. When it starts it continues all day (about every 5 to ten minutes)  Today instead of coming in on just one line, it is coming in on two.  Really frustrating and annoying.

I just blocked call and reported it to my Verizon company

Calling every ten min or so. Am not answering

Constant calling, like auto dialing number, when answers it's beeping like fax number

I get 4 to 5 calls from 0000008888 and no message is left except for some beeping noise that sounds like a fax. So far since 8:00-11:20 I have received 5 calls.  Very annoying
