I missed a call from this number.  They left a recorded voicemail claiming the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and left a number to call (360-489-6074).  When I called, a man with a strong accent answered and asked for my full name.  I immediately asked for more information about who they were and verification on this claim and he hung up on me.

Please look at the phone number. In North America there are no area codes from 000 to 199. As well, no prefix can start with a '0', or a '1'. So right off the bat the caller ID is spoofed (faked). Does that sound like something the REAL IRS would do? Hardly. They write you by good ol' US Mail.
