    No way!
Call from someone with a thick accent claiming that my computer (they could not tell me if it was a laptop or PC) was throwing errors and that it was "BOB" from Windows needing me to turn on my computer. 1) if he was BOB I will eat my hat 2) the # came up on my caller ID as unknown caller no area code and 100-0000 as the phone number.

I asked "Bob" who he represented- he could not give me a company. I ask what computer he was refering to- he could not answer me. He just kept repeating that my computer was sending a "Windows Error" and I needed to turn my computer on for him to address the issue.

I told him that a valid company would be identified on my caller ID, that he had no idea my IP address or even if I owned a computer. And that I highly doubted his name was Bob and that he was full of BS.

I told him to remove my phone number from whatever scam list he has it on and never to call back again.

Just to be 100% sure I was not being paranoid, I contacted Best Buy where we purchased our laptop less than 6 months ago. They informed me this is a scam.

Idiots not wanting to work for their bucks like the rest of us. Wish I has their home numbers. I would call them and drive them crazy just to let them know what it's like.

Couldn't understand the caller.  The caller had a very strong African or Jamaican accent.
