I am on a do not call list so why would I still be getting some calls and/or texts?

As many have reported, I received 2 text messages stating that my number was given to them by a friend, try and guess who they were and go to the website given.  Unfortunetly I have already deleted the messages so I am unable to give better details.  The name given was the miss_Pickles.

got 2 calls from this number telling me that they got my number from a friend to go to some chickadate.......which brought me to this page.....Spam and no longer want texts from this number!!!!!

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO GET OFF THIS LIST....MY SON AND I HAVE RECEIVED FROM THIS SO CALLED INDIVIDUAL.  IT COST FOR US TO RECEIVE TEXT FROM THESE INDIVIDUALS.  HOW DO THEY GET OUR NUMBERS...

I got the exact same message to go to dateregion.com and look up soletgo and send a msg... I am also a Verizon customer. Does Verizon give/sell ph #'s for advertisers to use?? wth

It was the same for me, I got 2 texts one right after the other with the caller ID coming up as my # and someone calling themself amyvina.hangouthop.net claimed to have gotten my # from a friend and wanted me to look her up to see if I could recognize her. When I Googled, I was connected to Friend Jungle. I signed up for free, mostly out of curiousity, to see if it really was someone i knew and found amyvina 1 & amyvina 2.Only amyvina 1 had a photo and I did not recognize her at all.After reading all the reports on this site I'm convinced its a scam set-up by someone from Friend Jungle so that you will check out their website and join.Now to sign up is free but you can't really do much unless you pay to UPGRADE your membership. It feels funnystyle and I don't trust it.I'm not sure how they got our #'s, but remember these phone companies started cooperating with the Bush Administration regarding domestic surveillance and warrantless wiretaps against all contracted and legally binding agreements with customers,so who knows what is really going on
