Some Indian idiot asking me if my computer was on... I f#%^#ked with him for about 10 minutes before he hung up on me...... 😱. How rude ! 😂

Strange telephone calls

When I got the phone call my computer turned off then on again. Do you think it's possible they got access to my computer when I logged back in?

Foreign telephone agent tells me he's calling from "Windows" about a problem with my computer and asks me to turn it on. I've managed desktop computing teams for 39 years, yup, since Mac Plus machines on sneaker-net. I ask how "Windows" got my phone number and he says it was during my windows registration. Uh huh! I acted dumb and kept him on the phone for about 35 minutes (didn't have anything more fun to do). He wanted me to set permissions on my machine so he could remotely access and fix it. Yeah right! I couldn't be any more obvious that I was leading him on and he eventually started to catch on. I eventually told him the reason it wasn't working might be because I was on an Apple (not really). He told me he was going to "block" my PC. I said that's great and thanked him.

Not unless you followed their directions.
