jaystar - 25 Mar 2008just called Telus for the exact same scam text messages I have been receiving. Got the "Its a know issue....we are working on it..." speech. Added my phone number to the ticket they have opened up for this issue.
Everyone check your phone bills as you may be getting charged 15 cents per scam text message you receive. Just call and they will refund your money back.

Not surprised. - 25 Mar 2008Hey guys, glad I'm not the only one here getting these text msgs. I got one from psychocutie-p080 this morning. They're obviously being sent from through the internet which means charges on our end, huh? Nice way for Telus to rake in some extra money from everyone who doesn't complain to them about it. What a scam, I'm soooo tired of calling telus every month to refund amounts that should have never been charged to me in the first place!

Strange as I've been through this with Telus before as to my number being listed as it went with them the last time was "We're sorry, when we did your address change your number became unlisted" Telus can give out your cell number unless you tell them not too. *** Check out CRT rules ***
I think this is funny that almost all people here on this board are from Alberta and the only place that has my real number is Memory Express!!

Previous postings made me think who I might have given my cell number to recently: Holland America Cruise Line; Air Canada/United Airline---so that if a change in travel plan occurred after I left home, they could at least get in touch with me. Otherwise, I rarely give my cell number.
Anyone else gave their number to AC/UA or HACL?
