000-268-0005

These calls are from a debt consolidation counseling company.  The caller's name is M Bank or Kevin Scott from M B Bank.  It sounds like the calls are coming from overseas.  The caller i.d. has no name just the numbers 0-268-0005 or 268-0005.  I asked for the location of the company office and they hung up.  I told them not to call and I have filed a complaint with Do Not Call List.  I can't find information on this strange number.

Watch Out!!!!  This is more likely a SCAM!!!!  These scum keep calling and giving different names.  One M Bank, M V Bank, Kevin Scot, and Frank Taylor.  Again saying that they are friends and if we want credit couseling for unsecure credit card debt.  The caller today said he was calling from California and he was Frank Taylor, a friend with an offer.  This is annoying.  I will no longer answer!!!  Stuff the cheese telemarketers!!!  Numbers on caller I.D. 0-268-0005 and 268-0005.

Did you eventually get these people to leave you alone?  I have received calls from this same number every single day for about 2 weeks and finally decided to answer one a couple days ago.  I told them to leave me alone.  And they still keep calling.  And the funny thing is, I have no debt to consolidate!  I have never allowed them to talk long enough to validate the name of their company or why they are calling, so thanks for your helpful post.

After talking to my phone service provider and the attorney general's office in my state, there is no way to have this number blocked from my phone.  I have filed a complaint with the Do Not Call list people.  I am also going to call the FTC at 1-877-382-4357 (we'll see how that goes).  These harrassing phone calls need to stop.

Annoyed,  I got relief by blocking the number with all 000 at the begining of the number.   I called my phone carrier and complained that these calls are creepy and asking for personal information.  You have every right to block this number and I would insist on it.  My carrier walked me through the steps on their website to look at my account and to be able to block calls.  Maybe you could ask your phone carrier if they have this feature.  Other wise don't answer.   It is a shame that we have to go this far to get relief!!!   I wish you luck!!

My Android gives me the option of automatically sending a number to voicemail. With this and numbers like it, I enable that function. Then I set the ringtone so I basically never hear a ring from this number. I have effectively pulled the plug on them but they don't know it so they keep wasting their time calling a number that never rings on the other end.

I got a call just now at my office from 268-0005 (no area code came up on caller id) from a guy with a very heavy Indian accent saying his name is Adam Brown and he is calling from some agency law firm.  (I couldn't understand any of what he was saying except "law firm").  I hung up on him.  I've gotten several of these phone calls from different numbers for months now (at my office) and it annoys me, but it also annoys those in the office who have to answer the phone when these [***] call.  I really wish there was something someone could do to put a stop to it!

I received multiple phone messages on my business phone from both a female and a male with identical scripts in very broken english with thick, almost unintelligble accents.

I wasn't born yesterday--and because these people are scam artists AND irritating me when I have real work to get done--I took a few moments out of my day to screw with them.

First, I called them back and asked them if they needed directions to the memorial service or the funeral showing.  The male on the other end said "I do not understand what you saying" (very broken english, thick accent).  I then asked, "Sir, what exactly was your relationship with the deceased?  Because the memorial is open to everyone, but the viewing of the body is for family only."  He started in with "you must relay a legal message to XXXXX XXXXXX" (my name X'd out for privacy purposes).  I told him that would be very difficult, considering XXXXX XXXXXX passed away six days ago, and my job was just to direct people on how to get to the memorial service.  He stuttered a bit, then said "sorry to bother you" and hung up.

Oh no, I wasn't done there.  I am just WAAAY too creative not to get even with these idiots even more.  I then went online and filled out every "have an agent contact me" scam I could find.  I entered their name (John Jackson) and their phone number (661-532-8529) for free insurance quotes, free daily horoscopes by phone, free debt relief help, free home improvement memberships, etc.  Hopefully that will cause THEIR phone to ring off the hook with telemarketing  scum and scammers.

But wait, there's more.  I couldn't just hope they would get lots of calls, I had to make sure of it.  So I signed into Craig's List for one of the biggest cities (most populated) that I know of.  I listed an ad stating that I was in search of a payday type of loan, and for anyone in that business to call me and help me through the process.  Again, I listed his name & number.

Then I went into my "spam" folder in my email and found any email that said something to the effect of "you inherited large sums of money from Nigeria" (as an example) and responded to those emails with his name and phone number as well.

Yes, it all is a little bit evil of me, but because these guys arn't in the U.S., I really don't think that our law enforcement is going to be able to do anything about it other than stick it in a file.  If I come up with any more creative ideas to get even, I will definitely come back and post again so that you all might have some of the same fun!

It's kind of a shame; I haven't heard a peep from them in two weeks now, so I haven't had anymore fun with them recently.  But I guess ultimately, they have stopped calling so the goal was reached.

Calls from overseas for a payday loan I never got . Threats.  Gave me a california number.   I cussed him out and told him he is a scam. He told me he will make my life miserable. I told him to go well u get the picture.   Called police. Filed report. Told me he was from john washington and associates. They are in dallas will call them Monday. Second time it has happened.    Had policeman call back last time and they hung up. Idiots

Just missed a call from 268-0005 when I checked my voice mail she said blah blah and wishing me good luck but she leaves a number to contact her at 661-270-6715.   Wait it gets better she called on my work phone...I answered and can barely understand her so I hung up, she called 6 more times and I hung up so on the 7th time I stayed on the phone to see what she had to say...I told her that I have reported her to the police, she could care less.   My thing is about three weeks ago I was getting calls from a man with broken english....I am getting tired of these A$$HOLES!!!

I have been getting phone calls from someone that does not speak good english....maybe of Indian descent.  The phone # they are calling from is 268-0005.  They are very threating. Saying I must have an atty call them at once or I will be in big trouble!!!!!!!!!!  and May God save me.  I am fed up with whoever these idots are that continue calling.  I have blocked this phone #.  I called him a XXXXX Muslim.  IDOIT!!!!!!!!!!!!
