They said they were from AOL and wanted me to get on my computer........WTF? AOL sends a BLUE e-mail to tell you of any issues.............weird

same exact number calling in UK. Must be automated call centre since it times out if someone doesn't pick it up on their end and then it says goodbye.

I received a call from this number allegedly fromMicrosoft regarding a problem I had with my computer - they then gained access to my computer and told me that I had many problems and they could fix them if I paid £300!   When I refused they gradually reduced it to £25 - I still refused to pay and rang off.   I do not know who these people are - but they are obviously criminals.

Calls come in several times a day. They say they are either HP or Microsoft and need to fix a problem with my computer. Get nasty when told to stop calling. Have at times sworn at me when I tell them to stop calling

Received call at 7:47AM from this number but my ringer was not on. No message left. Tried to call back but it said that the service I was trying to use was restricted or no longer available. WTF?

I just hung up from a call from this number. Man had an accent like from India or Pakistan area.  Claimed he was from Microsoft and he just got a report that my computer had some very bad stuff getting on it.  He wanted access to my computer to check it for me.  I told him my IT just checked my computer and it's fine.  He still wanted to check it.  I told him I was about to leave and asked him for a phone number to call him when I get back.  Needless, to day, he hung up!

Just got a message from 0010191079 on my land line saying good bye any one know what that's all about

Just say you have an IPad so you use their operating system and nothing from Microsoft!!! If they continue you know that they are nitwits.

NEVER ANSWER THESE CALLS OR TALK TO THEM.
NEVER LET THEM DO ANYTHING TO YOUR COMPUTER.
NEVER GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION OF ANY KIND, NOT EVEN YOUR NAME.
NEVER CALL THE NUMBERS BACK!

!- Invalid caller ID information
2- Multiple calls
3- Harassing calls
4- Your computer DOES NOT inform Microsoft, AOL, or anyone that it has a problem
5- Automated calls when they are illegal

So many other things wrong about this type of call. But to keep it simple NEVER TALK TO THEM OT CALL BACK.

This is a call centre in India doing all sorts of rogue calls. Never believe anything they say. The bottom line is that they want you to give them a card number to pay for something or other - and you can only imagine what will happen to your bank account if you do. Have nothing to do with them.

I received today a call from 11-019-1079 . When I answered I didn't received any response so I hang up.....Never to call back.....

I just got this number in display and had a funny feeling, so also not answerd.
Right on Google searched and came I ended up here, what am I glad I have not answerd.

They're escalating - I've received 2 calls from them again today already before 2:30pm....
    1st call as 01-019-1079
    2nd call as 11-019-1079

Did not answer either.

I have Comcast phone service and while they now allow for blocking 25 numbers, that's not many, and they only allow you to enter legally constructed phone numbers to block - these numbers displayed on the caller ID are NOT legally constructed so you cannot add them to their blocking list!

I have commented to Comcast long ago that if we can't block illegally constructed numbers then WHY do they send them through to our phones!
No response from them at all on this simple and very logical question....

Also, 800notes really should add SCAM to their drop-down menu for call type.
Scam calls are illegal in nature and the intent is to steal money or your identity. None of the current drop actually match that

I get these all the time.  Definitely Indian or Pakistani.  Keep messing with them.  Ask them for specifics about your computer.  Ask them how they found out the problem.  Sound very sincere.  Ask them to repeat your name and IP Address.

After a while, they will start to get upset and call you very bad names....  I've been called  an A@#$E,  Mother @#$%^&,  S@#$H#&*, Etc.

They will get pissed at you.  Just have fun.  I'm going shopping for one of those compressed air Horns.  That should get their attention.
