- DavidHOAX CALLER NUMBER - Indian caller called today called "Robert" (yeah right that was his real name !). Said he was from BT and they had been getting errors from our IP Address for the last 3 days. When I asked him what IP Address, he immediately new that his game was up as a hoax caller and spat a load of expletives at me down the phone before hanging up. Do not fall for it as they will no doubt try and get you to do something on your computer that allows them access to snoop around and steal personal information i.e. same as the supposedly "I am from Microsoft" calls.

- MargiemooHad a call from this number today claiming to be BT OPENREACH and informing me my internet would be suspended for 4 days, presumably hoping I would call back. Now blocked that number. Had one from another number yesterday claiming to be BT and that my IP address had been hacked. I let him ramble on before telling him I had recorded the conversation, when he cut off. Also blocked that number. Both callers had Asian accents. Damn nuisance.

- ian| 1 replyWoman claimed to be from BT Openreach - Indian accent. Claimed something was wrong with my internet connection and would I do the following with my PC. select Windows button/R together. This opens a DOS Run box. She then wanted me to type in CMD. For all that know, this step is the next in handing over the control to your computer to a third party. I then told her that I was not going any further, that I knew what she was up to and was then passed over to a male - again an Indian accent. He tried to follow a similar story about a problem. I told him I didn't believe him and he hung up

- BigA replies to ianYep Microsoft tech scam. No one has any idea about problems with your computer unless you call them.
- Peter Davey"Microsoft support" scammers. These aren't just pranks - if you play along you'll get scammed out of hard cash, or your PC trashed, or very likely both.
- Caller: "Microsoft support" or equivalent
- Call type: Telemarketer
