Recieved a call from this number yet when I call back it says this number is no longer in use

Received a call from this number, telling me that they suspect a fraud transaction on one of my banking cards. I denied having use it buying anything. They told me that they would NOT put the transaction through, and that I shoudl call them back to ensure it is fraudulent. I went to the bank, closed my accounts, and was told it would take 21 days to check it. I withdrew all my money and closed my card. This morning I receive a NO NUMBER call, saying that they are going to reimburse me with the amount. I told the person that if they are from a bank why do they not have a number? *Policy* is their reply.
They wanted another account nr to pay the fraudulent amount into. GHAAAAA!  Whatever, I would rather lose that amount. But another card? NEVER!

Received a missed call from this number and when I call it back it says number not in use. I think these are people who are into fraud and are trying to get our account number.

I too missed a call from this number and on a public holiday. Its surprising to read here to find out its a fraudster. I called back and doesn't exist.  I recently opened a clothing account and am wondering if they got my details from there.

Hey I just got a missed call from 011 641 6000. Also cannot phone them back. If they call again I'm gonna wind them up for sure and see if I can get a funny on them. Amazing and unbelievable that companies actually permit these crimmals to operate, perhaps they to are somewhat implicated ?? If you make money off the public then you have to police your operation to protect your core custmoer base >>> Business 101 ....... DumbAsses !!

Received a call from this number - could not talk was driving - tried to call back - says number not in use.

The number is from the Fraud Department at Standard Bank, South Africa.  You cannot call it back.

Recommend you contact Standard Bank and find out why they called you.
