I received a call they said they are phoning from standard bank

*This post is not a complaint*. I made an online purchase using my credit card and my phone started ringing as soon as the payment went through. It was indeed the Standard Bank Fraud Division checking to make sure that I was aware of the transaction. I am very impressed with the speedy response to this as I have been a victim of card fraud in the past. Well done Standard Bank!

I think its SHOCKING that if this is indeed Standard Bank, that they would phone me a WEEK LATER relating to a problem that I experienced at work on a host to host system and to my personal and private cellphone number? Where on earth do they get it!

I got a call immediately as well. Harmless as far as phishing goes in my opinion. All they asked for was date of birth, which is useless in transactions. Genuine as far as I can tell, and so I'm very much impressed!

I just received a call from this number, but no one spoke. I just heard people speaking in the background, sounded quite distant so I could not hear what was being said. I then ended the call. It creeps me out reading the comments above. I bank with Standard Bank and am considering changing banks especially after experiencing a frustrating week with Standard's poor service!

The guy said he was from Standard bank and they place i went to last night charged me twice. He even gave me the exact amount. I suspected that i was charged twice when the waiter insisted we use another machine just because the slip wouldnt print

I received a call from this number, they said its Standard Bank, they wanted my ID number, said I must close my account and open another one.

No option on the number selection to help me with my query.

Got a call, was asked to confirm my DOB and the caller went through 2 of my most recent credit card transaction. She said she was from Std Bank.

I have just received a call from this number seconds after making a payment to SARS via Standard bank account. I checked with Standard bank helpline and this IS A SCAM. Do not be fooled seeing that they have your detail and know every bit of your banking transaction.

Wife banks with Standard Bank. She got a call from 012 988 0000 with a guy saying he was from fraud prevention and there were suspect transactions on her account. Just asked for DOB and said he could cancel the card. My wife agreed   to the cancellation. We called Standard Bank help line after checking on the app and not finding the transactions the guy mentioned. Held on and transferred around for half an hour. Eventually find out that the account was cleaned out minutes after the call with 012 988 0000 ended. The guy knew her most recent transactions, where she collects her cards, etc.

I got missed call from the number when call back its not answered. No options

I received 2 calls this morning from this number which I didn't answer.When I  called back from my cellphone it just rang and when I called back from a landline the number didn't exist.
Two of my collegues has fallen prey to these pretenders so please take care.

i have received a call from these number 0129885000/0129880000 from the same huy nambed Dalisu Buthelezi and he called on the phone thats not registered for standard bank, i was so suprised why would standrd bank call me on these numbers, he said he's been appointed to be my financial advisor, i must give him my email so that he can send a disclosure for me,i was in such a hurry i gave him the email. he sent the documents but my gut kept telling me to be careful, he kept on calling using those two numbers & i ignored it, until today he called he asked for my id,my adress etc, then my gut feeling came again, i just hung up the call and searched tose numbers on some results its saying its trustworthy and others its saying its untrustworthy so i decided to block those numbers.
