Called on a Sunday afternoon

Called 4:30 Sunday afternoon. I called back and number was unresponsive.

Debit card locked, select option to unlock.  I hung up without selecting either of the two options. A/C 020 is London (?)

Added note.  My residence is in the USA, so 020 is off.

Got similar message cc has been compromised. I just hung up 8:55pm

Recording said my debit card was lost. Press 1 for the security department. I hung up.  I don't even have an account at the Peoples Security Bank, if there really is one.

How legitimate is a call from a spoofed number like this? It's a phishing scam. If this were even close to being believable, why would they be using a stupid, invalid number in the US? People's Security Bank sounds bogus, but is actually real in Pennsylvania.

Pretty goofy sounding, too. Incredible all the names they'll use to try and dupe somebody, though, anything to steal.

Call came at 1:15am. Glad I didn't answer.
