I am never answering the phone again if I don't recognize the number!!!!

Just got a call from this number---for starters, it looks like merchandise number not a phone number.  No person there but I waited a few seconds and then they so politely hung up.  When I called back it said, "You have reached the YMAX Communication Test Number.  This call was successful. (Beep, Beep, Beep)" and then a hang up.  Nice manners.

I'd like to know why they don't talk like a normal person when someone answers the phone, and why think that hanging up on a real-life person is acceptable behaviour by them.  Would they like it if someone did that to them?!!   The message on the machine makes absolutely no sense at all. I've never heard anybody leave a message like that on an answering machine.  Does anybody know what in the world they mean that this call was successful?     They talk  in riddles as far as I'm concerned.  

If you don't know who it is, then don't bother!!!

Received call at 8 am.  No one on the line when I picked up so I just hung up.

I have been receiving calls from this no. & was just curious to whom they may be?
 
I don't answer calls until someone calls out. Everyone that knows me will yell out over the answerphone for me to pick up as telemarketers (bless them) are very frequent callers.  Most of my family are in NZ & the overseas calls in particular don't always display nos. so... they will yell out crazy stuff & pretend to be from one of those overseas call centres.  My apologies if this offends anyone.

Another call last night. Praise the lord (and Uniden) for telephone answer machines. I think they will give up soon!!
