SCAM!!! Company called ETProtections is a scam. A man claiming to be Rex Robinson called  me 3 times aready. Agrressive sales tactics and confusing jargon. He says that my computer licence has expired and my computer is going to crash should I not download his software. STUPIDLY, through following the steps that he gave me over the phone, I downloaded his software that allowed him remote access to my computer and files. When I tried to delete the software, my computer crashed. I honeslty am not sure what information he took?

I got a call from Rex I want nothing to do with it.  Can anyone assist me and tell me who I should report it to?

Also got a call this afternoon. A arrogant little twit called David Moses. Got so irritated when I asked him questions. this is a scam!!!!!

Got a call yesterday from a Nikki, could hardly understand a word she was saying, then put a Alex Cooper (same story, difficult to understand a word) on the line who gave me the sales pitch, when I asked why I was not told right at the start that they are actually trying to sell me something he got really defensive.  Told me there is not a technician anywhere that would check my pc free of charge (like I would ask them to anyhow).  Not happy when told him not interested, so tried to get me to pay a once off R350, still not interested.  How on earth do they get our numbers AND who do we report this to please????

Received call from 0213007901 Johnny & Leo Martin (so call senior technician) claiming my security on my computer was compromised. They asked for login access to fix my PC. Further in the conversation they were asking for registration and a fee if I were to take their product and allow them to fix my PC. SCAM!

We got several calls from Johnny on 021 300 7901He said that our software was compromised and that he was appointed by Microsoft to fix it.What a jerk!

Third call this morning (22 November 2011).  Different callers each time.
"Gloabal Tech Department" of "ET Protections"  or "EC Protections".  Gave their number as 021-300-7901 which let me find this thread via Google.
All three times put down the phone in my ear after I insisted on company information.
I only know is telemarketer from posts above.
Can confirm very aggressive attitude.

Got a call from a miguel claiming that my computer is at high risk and they would be able to fix it for me. When i said i was a student and have no money they were interested in my parents and said they would call back tomorrow. No harm done i hope?

Received three calls...Sharon, Priscilla and Michael. They said my system was exposed to risk, and that Windows had informed them of the infections.......very aggressive ( only gave me their number after I insisted on it)....they use a lot of jargon, and insist you need a technician to assist you.  What they are trying to do, I am not sure of !

Received a number of calls from ET Protection, who only gave me the name and number after I refused to proceed without details. They said that they had been authorized by Microsoft to help with computer infections.( Sharon, Priscilla and Michael)
I did not proceed after they asked me to access a website.

Got call from same people, very persistent... they have phoned three times in space of about three or four months.  Isnt their a way to report their phone number? or get banking details from them to pay money to them and then report that bank account?

Got one from these guys today as well. Bugged me for ages. While on the line I checked with a mate of mine in IT who said it was bollocks. However, I now have problems with some programs on my Laptop (like Windows Media Player). So.... I need to get the whole thing cleaned. Very pissed off. If these guys are operating 'legally' they should be brought to book swiftly.

Got a call from this number today - a 'James Reynolds' - arrogant with a heavy foreign accent which was difficult to place. I said I leave my laptop at the office so couldn't log in. I was worried it was a scam to get my banking pin details. Said I would call him back in the morning. He said I should only ask for him.

we also got a call today and Alex got very agresive and swore at JB after JB told him that he is a scam. he even told JB that he will come and kill his family

the number 0213007901 is a number in use in cape Town, south africa, they have a voice recording if yuo dial it, pretending to be the answering service of the company. It is NOT a telemarketing scam, it is a phishing scam whereby they remote access into your PC and steal passwords and online banking details.

Victoria from ET Protection phoned me this afternoon, informing me about the malware infection on all Microsoft PC's. Anti virus programmes do not detect it and I'm going to lose my PC and blah blah blah. The joke is on her though, as I asked her if it is not a virus, as she claimed, does it mean my PC has a bacterial infection? And guess what, I will have to go and buy Penicillin for poor Einstein as he has a BACTERIAL INFECTION!!

Recived a call from a guy with an Indian accent saying I they had detected a virus on my pc and needed to sort it out (23 March 2012). I told him I dont have time now but would call him back the following day. He gave me a no. (021 - 3007901) and said I should ask for Shane.
I suspected it was a scan but what I want to know is how he knows that I'm running Windows 7. How do they get access to this info?

today I received a call from 021300 which I could not attend but I am a little warried that this is a weird kind of number, if some one has some information please reply. Thanks
