Beware of this one (PS. there is an additional '8' on the end): I am most suspicious!  We first received an unsolicited, but personally addressed e-mail from someone called Victor, "wanting to set up a business relationship", and entitled "Dear Friend" (what cobblers, we don't even know you!) Then our 'phone started ringing.. suspicious eh?!  I estimate it's sourced from Africa - namely Madagasca.

Ignore, until Victor gets p*ssed off, and goes away to try some other gullible mug..

I also have received several calls from this number, again from some ethnic guy. He knew my Christian name and Surname. When I asked who was calling he introduced himself as Dave? ( I dont think so ) and said he was from the service centre and was calling about the repair to my computer. I asked him what company he represented, no reply. I then asked what computer and he said the one you have in your house. Beleive me I am a bit long in the tooth, (old and then some) and had already realised from the beginning that this was just another scam, having previously weeks ago had a phone call from the same people telling me they were calling about a problem with Windows Programmes, at that time I asked the guy what department of Microsoft do you work for and who is the section head? no reply. On both of these occasions I have asked "how do you know I even have a computer " to which the reply has been, well you do have a computer dont you?
If you get any calls from these guys treat it with the utmost suspicion and contempt, and hang up.
Rest assured if you are stupid enough to go along with them and give them the details they are after, or silly enough to open up your computer as some people have been asked, then you are likely to suffer Identitiy theft or an attack on your bank account,or worse. Good Luck

If you want some fun, try this. Sound very interested and go along with it for a while (they ask you to press "start" then choose "run" and ask you to enter a code..DO NOT DO IT), then say "excuse me, I must answer my door. Take some time. Then say sorry, I've forgotten where we were, can we start again.....eventually they get fed up. Alternatively, if you feel like it, just say you are a "dumb **** if you think I'm falling for that **** you ****ing numbheaded ****".

I also have just had a call from this number from a foreign man claiming to be a Microsoft engineer and that my pc was badly infected with severe viruses, when I challenged him as to his identity and told him that I was'nt just going to follow his instructions on my computer he got very rude. So like yourself I hung up!!!! This is scary and wish others would be aware of these scams.

I had a call from this number saying I owed three months installments for cheshiresexline.co.uk. I told him I would call the police if he did not get off the line - and this guy was very British.

Had many of the computer scam calls - I find sounding very shocked and crying out "computers are the work of the Devil - I will not have one in the house" works well.

I've been getting about 6-8 calls a day by this number and I am fed up, I have told them numerous times to stop ringing and then other times I have not answered but its getting ridiculous now. I'm 6 and a half months pregnant and it's taking the piss because I keep jumping up when the phone rings (incase it is important-and just out of habit).

Why can't the authorities shut these scam companies down!?

They have been phoning us for over a year, we have caller ID so we can ignore the number when we see it but it is highly annoying, gonna get the number blocked anyway not much else can be done.

Had a few calls from this number claiming to be from 'Windows' about fixing my computer. Told him it was a scam he said 'No! It's you that's the scammer' and hung up! Even with the telephone preference service, these calls still come through.

I've had a call every week day (not weekends!) from this number (with the extra 8 on the end) from a man who started to tell me there was something wrong with my computer but today, when he called and said 'I'm calling about your computer' I said 'why?' and there was a short break and he said 'I'm going to shoot you'.  I said 'what?' and he said again 'I'm going to shoot you'.  I hung up.

Well they are still at it , rang me today saying they were from windows services & my hard drive was at severe risk of crashing, turn it on immediately & he would tell me what to do to get rid of the virus. After asking to speak to his manager & refusing to give him any details he became obsusive so i got rid of the bug & hung up on it. He's now called "Jack Williams" & number has extra 8 on the end x
