Called multiple times , no one spoke , hung up straight away

Had this number call today and claimed they were from the police. asked for money to pay for raffle tickets. As sson as I asked him for his Police identifing number he then put the phone down.
Just a scam.
Just remeber never give you detailes to anybody over the phone unless you have started the call and now who you are calling.  If any notible person wants detailes from you they will eith wite or see you in person.

This caller rings two or three times a day, every day. They never leave a message (with words anyway - there has been a few a seconds of a very noisy babbling background). I have a private/unlisted number, and am in Brisbane QLD AU. I really don't see what the point is - surely there must be some kind of law against this kind of harassment?

I AM ALSO FOM BRISBANE...i also have these rude people ring daily and wake us up as we Are shift workers.. i have returned the call and get a recording saying "YOU  HAVE REACHED THE CHARITY RAFFLE ENQUIRY LINE" 1300 785 209 IS THE NUMBER YOU CAN RING THEM BACK ON.. THEY HAVE BEEN HARRASING ME FOR 6 MONTHS .. HOPE THIS HELPS ... GOOD LUCK

More than 20 calls now usually between 6.30 pm and 7.00 pm although I have had "missed" calls through the day.This is now effecting my kids and as a parent will act accordingly if I find the PRICK!!!!!!!!!

Had this phone number on my CID, 80881400 when i rang back, it told me it was a incorrect number or incomplete number twice, then started to ring, as if it was a normal number, no one answered.
I rang the 1300785209 number they tell me their charity calls all start with 1300.
They also told me they can place me on a DNCR for the Charities.
I'll think about that for a later date.  

 From what i can gather this maybe a VOIP number, this will need more looking into.

I was expecting a call, and foolishly picked up without the usual screening. I'd ignored this number for months, and they finally got me - a raffle for cervical cancer vaccines in remote locations. There was silence followed by a strange electronic sound immediately after I picked up, and then the background noise of the call centre. Told them I don't do raffles.

I have received 3 telephone calls to my home telephone today from 02 8088 1400. The last call I heard a man's voice, which appeared as though he was talking with someone close by him. The call then disconnected.
I am registered with Telstra's "Do Not Call" register and perhaps it's this service that is disconnecting these anonymous calls.

My unlisted phone number received 5 calls from this 02 80881400, one after the other. Fortunately I was not home.
This number will be reported to the Do Not Call Register as was the other annoying Call Centre number     02 8999 3198. Then they can be investigated also.

Have been receiving calls from this number for the past few months. Usually when answered they hang up but this week they have actually spoken. Definately a scam. Bad english bad grammar wouldn't answer my questions but wanted info from me. Hung up after I mentioned solicitors as a mediator.

Like most people above, I've been receiving numerous calls from 02 8088 1400.  

I called Insight Call Centre Services on 1300 365 896 and told them that they are in breach of the federal "Do Not Call" legislation, they claimed that they are not required to comply with this legislation.  In my view, this is crap.  Regardless, if they're not going to show basic respect to those of us who take the time to register our telephone numbers, then what do they do with any funds they raise for charity???

I am an elderly veteran on a 100% disability gold card. I have received numerous calls from a number now identified as 02 8088 1400 requiring me to operate my lift chair & move to answer them.
When I answer the caller hangs up. On calling the number a recorded message advises I have reached a charity raffle enquiry line.
Reputable charities identify themselves & do not create this level of nuisance or inconvenience.
Reputable charities allow time to answer the phone & do not hang up after one or two rings.

Whoever is responsible for this nuisance will be traced & prosecuted.

Get the message & desist.

My mother who also has a disability has received upto 3 to 4 calls a day over numerous days and like other people affected they never leave a message. They claim to work on behalf of charity organisations using a loop hole in the law that allows charities to call people even when you may be on the 'do not call registar'.

They collect your details even if your number is silent or private from the following. 1) Any charity or donation form you may of filled out previously and did not 'tick' the 'do not disclose my information' box 2) White pages or any form of listed public phone number services 3) Your number that had previously belonged to somebody else.

YOU CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT

I encourage everyone who has had multiple calls from this company to document the time and amout of calls they make to your number as a charity asking for assistance is one point although this company is harrassing thousands of people multiple times a day and we should stand up and fight back.

If you would like to do something about it, contact either Today Tonight or A Current Affair from there websites and tell them your story regarding this company. The only way we will make a difference for everybody today and for the future is exposing there practices on a national scale and the more of us that write to our current affair programs the more something will be done. What a load of crap Insight Rep. If this was legit, there would not be so many different organisations or hang ups or unanswered calls or rings with silence. You are a scam trying to lure people into paying for a false raffle. I mean come on. Someone representing police and then hanging up when asked for ID. What a load of [***].

Go to Today Tonight and watch Call Centre Bullies, what a laugh, and the funny thing is that they have missed some of the most notorious agents calls that make poor George's calls look tame!

Bullying
and scare tactics to raise money for legitimate charities that are blissfully unaware of the damage to their reputation and that this call centre is ruining their standing in the community!

Agents don't get paid for toilet breaks and lose their commission if they are sick. Bullying tactics by Campaign Managers on agents who don't trick enough credit card details out of unsuspecting elderly Australians.

Honest and caring agents are quickly weeded out and then sacked.

I was previously employed by the highly immoral Insight CFS. Basically what the company is doing is cold calling elderly senile Australians and intimating/pressuring them to purchase raffle tickets via credit or debt card for a charity such as the PCYC or RSPCA etc, which cost $1000.00 dollars or less. I am embarrassed to admit that I once worked for Insight CFS, and I feel so dirty. Hangup, if Insight CFS call you.
