I got a call from this number "0282118513" (@5pm EST)
I'm in Victoria and our local state number is "03"
So im guessing this number "02" is from the New South Wales (Sydney)
A man called me regarding a survey on cars on my cell phone. He already knew my name which was suprising. He asked what kind of car I drove. I told him. Then he said he will get back to me. Weird!! Suss!
Total length of the call was about 3mins

I got the number also - googled it and found this info about it being a servey so i was prepared for him when he rang next !  He sure got a mouth full

Caller from above number identified himself as Nick from Ingenuity research. I readily declined to engage in any dialogue. Phoned the number back to hear a recording indicating that I had reached McNair Ingenuity Research.

I too have received numerous missed calls on my mobile from (02) 82118513. No message is ever left, so as far as I am concerned, it's a scam and I want it to stop.
I searched Google for the offending phone number which of course lead me to McNair Ingenuity Research.  I called them and asked to have my name removed from their database and I also asked who sold or gave them my contact details.  The person asked me what survey I had been called upon to answer.  When I said I had never spoken to their consultant, she said she was unable to look up my number as she needed to know what "project" they'd been calling me about.  
Now, being that their business relies on "data" analysis, I said I found that hard to believe. So without falling for her story, I told her that I'd received the latest call only minutes earlier, and she miraculously managed to find my number and promised not to call me for that project again.  I explained that I didn't want to be called for ANY project EVER again, and I asked which project list my name was on.  Guess what?  Energy Australia is their client.
Energy Australia's Privacy Policy pretty much allows them to give their customer's personal details to anyone they like:

I'm now going to contact Energy Australia's privacy officer and instruct them to remove my mobile number from my account details and to mark me down as "DO NOT SURVEY".
Honestly, why is it so hard to achieve a little peace & quiet and respect for privacy these days?

I had a call on an unlisted voip number which i messed. two days later it called again and there was some guy wanting to do a survey. I told him this is an unlisted number etc, he informed me that it was a random computer dialler which calls blocks of numbers. I called the office and had my number removed which I doubt they will do. you can call the office number on 02 9966 9133 and give them heaps or goto http://www.mcnairingenuity.com
