Stop calling as I won't answer a number I don't know

Caller said that they were calling from St George to offer me a "special deal" on life insurance policy, and started to ask for highly sensitive information, including account number.

Called the number back, says they are from Sykes working on behalf of Westpac, and provided the actual Sykes number 1300 731 384, to discontinue similar calls and promotions.

I called St George, and they noted that it did not sound legitimate.

They've been calling me for weeks. I always miss it and call back to odd message banks. Today however I answered, there was silence and then /i was hung up in. Annoying the crap out of me they need to stop ringing me.

They have started ringing my mobile over the last couple of days and every time I answered there was nothing, only background noise, I blocked the number on my phone and now they have somehow found my landline number and the first call was foreign lady offering a cheaper phone service, when I asked what company she was calling from she hung up, over the next hour 4 more calls same things either nothing with background noise or someone start talking and I ask whom they are calling on behalf and they promptly hang up. Seems pretty dodgy to me!

They called me on my mobile. She said she was from st George and just wanted to confirm my details as they had not talked to me for some time. She had my name, which I confirmed, and my house number and street, again I confirmed. She then wanted me to tell her my suburb. I started questioning the purpose of the call to which she again said it was to confirm my details. After a little more discussion were I would not give her any information she offered to give me her employment number that I could check with st George. I subsequently called st George who said they have nothing to do with this number and did not have me down for any calls today.

Very annoying!! call me everyday. Is there any govermental agency to stop it???

Have been getting calls the last couple of days no one speaks when I answer [***] 

I have had the call 3-5 times a day for the past few weeks. I don't answer as I do not answer unknown callers. If they leave a message I will call back... but they never do.
