Keeps rining and then when i answer it just says "please hold all our... are busy right now..." and then it hangs up on me!!! Quite annoying. Same goes for when you ring the number back it doesn't even connect it just "ring ring" and then beep beep and disconnects the line.

ive been getting the the last 2 wks, keeps making me think it was some job i recently been applying for! but since ive done a bit of search on the net to see which company, all these comments help! im glad i dont have to run out in the middle of a lecture just to pick up to a nobody!

I've been getting the same calls for over a week now.  Like Sarah, I contacted Optus to report the number only to find out they couldnt help.  Frustrated and concerned.

Optus dont do nthn there useless (stupid ppl in the philippines) the number calles me at 630 in the mornin than 930 than 430 in the arvo nearly everyday. its really grindin my gears

Hi there, we too are getting these calls, and have also reported this to Optus and as in the above posts say that they can do nothing. Just registered on https://www.donotcall.gov.au so we'll see how that goes. Apparently it can take up to 30 days, then if they still keep calling you can lodge a complaint.
Does anyone know the purpose of these calls? Because they never talk and when you call them back it just hangs up...
The only thing that I can think of is that we entered into one of those 'free raffles' at a shopping centre, and have nothing but problems since

they keep callin and its just an altimated serivice that says they are not availbale when i pick up, then they hang up.

Same as all the above,for the last 2 weeks, to-day 3 missed calls, also optus was useless when I called, very upsetting. WHY CAN"T OPTUS WORK ON OUR BEHALF< They ask for all kinds of identity proof, (name address,birth date, password,) when you call them with a legitament problem and ask for help, and all you get is a foreign voice saying to call back the no, or go to a website, and register, for them not to call.

The number 02 8986-3000 is from '3' Mobile. I had an unsolicited call from this number last week and upon answering it heard a computer generated females voice saying "There are no agents available to take your call right now" and then the call was disconnected. I tried several times to return the call only to have the call disconnected right after the 1st or 2nd ring. Yesterday I received a call on my mobile phone and as I picked it up I noticed the last four digets were 3000. The call was from '3' mobile asking whether I wanted to continue my contract with them after it expired in four weeks time and offered me a number of free items as an inducement to stay with them, they even e-mailed me the offer at my request to do so! After this call finished I checked my call registry on my MBL phone and low and behold the call had come from 02 8986-3000 so it is a caller from '3' mobile who is making all these annoying calls.

They call at least 3 times a day from 0289863000, if I answer they hang up, if I call they dont answer.....pls make them go away

Everytime i answer it hangs up!! Yesterday that number called me 7 times! I am so over it!  Im with optus though so not sure why 3 mobile is calling me?? but my contract does expire in about 4 weeks..

Not happy.

I have moved to London and still have my Australian mobile for work purposes.  Calls at 2am, them 4am and 7am are just not on.  It rings once then hangs up.
