just received the call and then just hang off.
I got no friend in VIC. I'm livin brisbane.
I suspect the number to be wrong number.

i got a phone call from this number while taking another call. there was no msg left and as soon as i tried to ring back within seconds of missing the call i kept getting a busy signal????? wat the???????????

These are telemarketers using some kind of Outgoing only VOIP or SKYPE number. You will not be able to call them back on this number. Your best bet is to answer it and gleen as much info on this number as you can (or find info on the web from another person who has, then call them) and ask to be removed from their call list. By law they must do this. If they do not comply they can get into some serious trouble. I have now got 3 calls from this number in 2 days. They never leave a message but because my answering service has already answered teh call, it costs me a phone call every time. [***]!

You'll NEVER guess... I got another call from this number just now and had the opportunity to answer it. It is the NAB (National Australia Bank) calling their existing customers to take part in a survey. I expressed my annoyances and demanded that my number be taken off their calling list. Their policy dictates that they cannot leave a message as they are an outgoing call centre only. I then asked that she pass my request on to their 'policy makers' to allow them to leave a short message stating who they were.

We shall see!

Recd call from someone claiming her name was 'Doris' with a common Australian accent claiming to be from NAB carrying out research on existing customer bank accounts. Probably a call centre. Hung up.

Not a call centre, it is a genuine research call from NAB.  Get your facts right.
