I have had this phone ring me on more than one occassion only to have them hang up immediately I speak.

same thing - exactly, it happens fairly frequently.
I think it is originating in India

last two days had calls from this number also hangs up when i answer, rang the number as well does not answer only get engaged signal

Same thing with us over the last two days, we are located in North Queensland

rang back always engaged

Calls from this number quite often - sometimes multiple times per day.  Always silence when you answer.  Engaged signal if you ring them back.  What are they trying to achieve?  Is it what happens when an auto-dial call goes through but no one is ready at their end to make the call?

If these morons call again and I see the number come up I'm going to blow a loud whistle into the phone and blow their ear drums out.

this number is a FRAUD. this will ask you all your personal information. I hope that someone could trace this number and put a stop to all of this.
