Thanks for that, but some how i don't think it's an international call. I have had 5 calls from this number today and there not stopping! i tried to call the number back and it told me to check the number and try again?? i tryed it a few times still the same?? It's like they have this number as mask for their real number they are calling from or something?
Are you sure its a promotions database? 3 times in one hour is a bit acsessive don't you think? I talked to vodafone bef they said it wouldn't be them?? who knows, but i tell ya its really pissin me off!!
But thats the thing - we should be calling them! Its there problem there the ones who are making the error - they should fix it otherwise they wont have any customers.
Got today as well a call from this number. Called Vodaphone and they told me that I have to block the number on my mobile... Not really helpful !!! Talked with Belinda at 1555.
i have been receiving these calls too.. it is very very frustrating and annoying.. called it back although it said that this optus number had been disconnected.
i answered the calls 2 times and it was silent, nothing on the other end. said hello several times and nothing so i just hung up, will not bother calling the number again and will just keep ignoring the calls although it is very annoying to say the least.
any more news about this? everyone says they block the number but how do you do that from your handset? is there a special feature on the mobile?? can someone help?? :)
Hi all.. well finally i managed to answer the call from this number - apparently Vodafone have a Call Centre somewhere in Manila and these people call through to process any feed back you may have about your Vodafone Service. Since they use an auto dialling system it will continue to call you until you answer and it's all automatic. Since they are overseas there is a delay when you answer, this answers the silence. I told Wanita who called that I had received several in fact 10 calls per day from this number for the last week. Of course she was very apologetic although never asked me for personal info.
I would suggest you just play along with it provide some feed back and be done with it. Perhaps call Vodafone directly and let them know you don't want to receive any such marketing / telemarketing calls in future and maybe that will solve the problem. Otherwise you could call the Dept of Fair Trading or the Telecommunication Ombudsman and let them know Vodafone are harrassing you and you have had enough.. a little extreme but an option.!!
Good luck.! hopefully the calls will now stop for me.. fingers crossed.!!
Hey guys, I've been getting the same phone call twice a day for the last 2 weeks. Finally, today, I decided to answer and waited few seconds, and was this guy from Vodafone calling me because my contract is about to expire, so he was just offering me a new contract with a new phone.
I told him I've been getting this annoying phoe calls, he said the computer generates them.
So, basically, answer the phone until they get tru you, and they will not call again!!
ha! thanks for the tips. This number has been calling me for the last three months now! and like many of you, i answered, but there was nothing but silence on the other end. I guess patience is the key! Thanks again!
It is Vodafone calling you. It is a call made from a Contact Centre in Australia and not offshore. It is a predictive dialler which shouldnt connect unless it detects a response at which point it hands you to an agent to answer the call. If you DO answer and there's nobody there then the dialler is probably running too fast - this usually auto corrects very quickly. The call is not necessarily a sales call, it could be a feedback or life cycle call to check in on you and your service. If you want to stop receiving these calls then call Vodafone and ask them to remove you from their marketing lists
Solved confirmed, just call vodafone and do the following:
After reading these posts I called vodafone 1555, explained I wanted to be removed from their promotional marketing in particular the number 0414113600 and said it was from a vodafone telemarketer in Milan. They removed the number and said I wont be getting calls from that number any more. It is illegal to conduct this kind of business practice from within Australia & telcos' walk a fine line. But being that we the people just sit back and take it, is it any wonder?
