If you're from Australia, it's Vodafone Marketing. They were trying to rope me into a new contract because my old one just finished. Picked up as this was the 4th call from them.

Great - thanks - got that call as well and they didn't leave a msg.  Am with vodafone so it makes sense.

I just received a call from this number too. I'm with 3 which makes some sense.

I got a call too. Said he was from Vodaphone marketing. Don't trust it he asked me for my 4 digit pin. I didn't give it. Has some story about extending free data access to bit torrent sites. Sound like BS beware.

Asked me for PIN because he had "important information in relation to billing of my Vodafone account". I did not provide and hung up. Sounded like a phishing scam, I doubt he was from Vodafone.

I had the same experience as Bob Downe - I hung up when he asked for my PIN.

I'm with 3, thanks for the tip on this missed call with no message left.

I answered and it was an english speaking lady with no accent telling me that Vodafone has spent $1 billion in the last 20months since they merged with Three and wanted to know if I wanted to xfer to Vodafone. I asked "aren't I already using Vodafone towers as a 3 customer", she said no and wanted my PIN, I said NARP. Sounds completely dodgy to me.

Thanks for that - got it today and no message left - have now put it in phone so know not to answer it!

Yeah I got a call from this number too... offering me a new phone to my plan... I already complained to an outlet manager and called customer service after reading all your comments...!!!! At first customer service said my Nokia n97 cant block the number for me... but then I dropped the bombshell saying i googled it and its a Vodaphone marketing number... they were like "Oh.." and are now attempting to block this number for me... wow I love the internet!!! Thanks guys! :)

With global roaming we got the same call many times - at 3am UK time. Didn't answer and only found out the source via this blog site (thanks).  Set to silent from now on.

received three calls from this number today.  Missed the first two but got the last.  Looking for my husband (his phone) he was out and I quickly jumped to the conclusion he was having an affair.  Looked the number up on the net.  came across this sight before I had time to accuse him thank God!

So glad I have read this page was getting concerned, this number has tried ringing 4 times during the last week and no voicemail...will definitley be ignoring this one.

Call from Vodaphone/3 to upgrade my phone. Asked for pin or password, but did not ask for any details and had my Correct Address, Plan details, billing cycle info (which I receive via email only).
Did not ask for or to confirm any Credit Card details. Shortly afterwards received a text from 3 confirming details of the phone call from a number I know to be 3.

I don't think it's a scam call just telemarketing

Ignored the call as well, but no doubt will have them calling again. My 3 contract is also up, so they are trying to tempt me over...no thanks!

I hate this number.  They have been calling me 2-4 times a day for the past few weeks and I keep ignoring it.. and I am still going too.

Thank you for blogging about this. I hate answering random numbers especiallym when they dont leave a message.  Maybe I would call back if they left a message.

Pretty random that they would call you and then ask for a pin though.  That doesnt seem right!
