ec - 30 Jan 2008The law allows you to recoup a lot more than the cell charges.
More than likely, the telemarketer used a predictive dialer (or auto dialer) to call your cellphone. This is illegal. The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) specifically forbids predictive dialed calls to cellphones; no exceptions.
The FCC enforces the TCPA, and you can report each violation to them online here: https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do
The TCPA also gives you the right to sue these dolts for a specified dollar amount (I think it's $500) for *each call* they make to your cellphone. You can file suit yourself (usually in small claims court) or retain a consumer law attorney who will take care of it on your behalf. Many times, by the way, the telemarketer settles out of court. skh - 1 Feb 2008They call every day about the same time and let me cel ring only a couple of times. I never answer. I have a listing on VRBO and am guessing this is where they get my number.

PB - 14 Feb 2008Don't hold your breath waiting for them to remove you from their list, I've gotten over 30 calls from them, each time asking them to remove me but they don't and I doubt they ever will. I had a VRBO listing too, regret ever doing that as it never produced anything of quality anyhow.
I think I'll explore the law suit thing just for fun!
