FYI    506 area code is a New Brunswick, Canada area code.  The U.S. Do Not Call Registry would not accept the 506 area code on the  complaint form.  It ask to " correct your area code".    Ideas?   I am fed up with the telemarketers.

Answering machine took call.  Message started before the beep so the first few words were lost.  Female voice saying urgent, interest rate reduction, eligibility expires 'shortly'.

Not sure if thats how the number should be broken down since not all countries use the xxx-xxx-xxxx grouping. Looked online for country code 062 which is south asia and is no longer in use. Checked 506 on getzips.com and it shows Canada.  Tried another varient and got Costa Rica.  None of this makes sense, the phone companies should figure out a way to block numbers that are not legitimate. I answered, said hello? twice and they hung up, I mean whats the point in even calling?

also found this "odd" phone # on my caller id-no msg. left May 24th

They called to say that today was the last day to lower The interest om my credit card.I hung up.Will not answer any more calls.

I received a call from this number today also. On the caller ID is showed up as unknown so I did not pick it up. The number looked odd 062 so I began to search on the internet for the answer. Thank you for the information so I may be prepared if and when it happens again. I am also on the no caller list. I hope someone stops this phone scam soon.

Ok I looked up the number 062-273-1601 using the info from above and converted it to 506-227-3160. It comes up a cell phone number from Canada.

Received call from this number after being on the no call list.  By the way one thing that is helping telemarketers is places like msn white pages search having even your age range on their directory now.  With all the "privacy" laws out there I don't know how that could be done without our permission.

Just keep them on the phone/on hold for as long as possible while you do your real work. Kept getting back on telling them I was searching for my credit card, bills, etc. Seemed to really piss them off when i did this today. I just played along to their requests and finally asked to speak to a supervisor after 15 or so minutes before I gave any info.

kept supervisor on hold for another 15 minutes.  finally spilled the beans that i had no intention of doing anything with them and i was just wasting their time intentionally.

Really pissed them off.  Big time.  They let go with every possible 4 letter word and everything they could muster in terms of insults but I just laughed and gave it right back... reminding them that they "worked in a call center for their job".

It was a great day afterall :)

Just the number on the caller ID 062-234-9654. I wasn't home and probably wouldn't have answered anyway.

WE have been getting threating calls to this number (062-265-6111) for months now and when you call back it is disconnected.  When we asked the man from this bogus credit card company to stop caling he said, "I'm going to keep on calling and I am going to hnt you down!"   How do you stop this?

We are getting calls where caller id identifies the number as beginning 5-062 and then seven numbers after it. When we pick up a recording says It is our last chance for low credit card rates. I got the first one two days ago, and it really ticked me off because we're on the do-not-call list. The recording said to press 1 for more info. I did, and when a live person answered, I insisted on knowing who she was and who she represented. She claimed she represented Visa/MasterCard customer service. I told her to take us off her list because we are on the do not call list. She was snarky, and said, "oh, too bad. too bad" and then hung up on me. Guess I was lucky she didn't curse me. Apparently they just say anything they want. The two numbers which have dialed us were 5-062-234-7900 and 5-062-265-6111. The first call is the one I spoke to the snarky woman. The second one, where I had planned to demand more information from the company, kept me on hold for several minutes and then a recorded voice came on and said, "Good bye."
