A woman called and asked to speak to me, using my full name with middle initial.  When I said "this is she" the woman hung up.  So far, I haven't had a call back.  If there is another strange call, I won't confirm my name.

I got a call from this number saying they are doing a customer satisfaction survey for my bank. I know something was wrong because my bank never contacted me via that number and the accent was very strange, almost mechanical. I am in Jamaica

I got a call from this strange number as well but was not at home. Info was asked about me what is really going on. Also this morning I received an email stating there was one million dollars waiting me at Western Union

It's 5:22 in the evening (Fri Jan 8, 2010).  The phone rings and I picked  up the receiver after three rings.  I've dealt with suspicious callers before so I know what 'not to say'.  I recognize the number to be an international number, 062 246 3747 so I simply answered as clearly (to ensure the caller hears) and politely (not to set off a red flag) as possible saying "Pleasant good evening".  There was a pause and the pause extended for about 17 seconds... the caller hanged up without saying a word and I did not repeat my greeting.

TIP - They did not get a name from me and I suggest that should your caller ID display an unfamiliar number, do not identify yourself either.  Should they refer to you by name, DO NOT give out ANY information, follow your instincts and make the phone call as super short as possible.  Only keep the caller on the line as long as possible if you are working directly with law enforcement to trace the call - otherwise, get your butt off that phone.

Another TIP... many of us customize our voice mails with our names.  AT times these callers will call at very unusual times hoping no one picks up the phones just to hear your names on your answering machines.  This is how they can really confirm that the names they are working with may be legitimate.  You may want to be creative with your personal recorded messages.  Once they confirm your names then it is very easy for them to find out your middle initial.  Don't be fooled - these guys know exactly what they are doing.  You just need to stay a few steps ahead of them to protect yourself and your family.

I got telephone from this number total 4 times by 3 defferent people and said they said Scotia Bank sales department or managiment department. First, woman asked to speak to me using may full name and when she knew I'm she then she hung up. 2nd time, a man asked to answer questionnaire. 3rd peson was same as first woman,I was busy time so I asked call back. 4th,just wile ago a man asked information for install bank infomation.
So I asked to send me fax or e-mail  not atelephone then they said only phone is way to do. I said cannot understand English and asked to speak Japanese then they said 'Thank you for spending your time' and hung up.

The number above called my family phone today. I was not home but he specifically asked for me and said something about a research. A soon as the man was told that I was not home, he hung up.

While I was away from home this number called my phone and asked for me by my name. My mother said that I was at work. They asked if I lived at the address that they called. She said yes and they said that they would call back at 8pm the same night. They have not called back yet. Should I be concerned? Where did they get my name? I live in the Commonwealth of Dominica in the Caribbean.

I received a call from the above number today August 24, 2011. My daughter answered and the person on the other end did not respond. I answered they hung up. I live in the federation of ST. KITTS/NEVIS

These persons are so dumb, a person called me saying that they were conducting a scotia bank customer survey but guess what, I DONT HAVE AN ACCOUNT AT SCOTIA BANK. they got a brain the size of a peanut

Got a call about scotia bank survey today also. 3 calls. Said they can't call cel numbers.

Got a callon Feb 8, 2013 asked for person by full name, say theyare carrying out a survey, I hung up.

I keep receiving calls from this number regarding a survey. They do not give any information other than it's a survey. They new my full name. I have refused to answer the call and let it go to voicemail. They never leave a message. this time I answered and ask to be removed from their list. they kept asking if my name was the person on the phone. I never confirmed my name asked to be removed  from the call list

This number called my house three times today. I was not home and on each occasion they asked for me by name, said it was important but would not leave a message. They told my little brother they would call back at 7. On the dot of 7pm I got a call from this woman, this time an unknown number, the voice was Hispanic, fast speaking, claiming that they are contracted by scotia bank to do a customer survey. Despite them asking for me me by name before they asked if I was over 18 and could answer some questions. The whole thing smelled very fishy. I told them I was not willing to do a survey and told them never to call back. I immediately googled the number and surprise surprise I found this forum!

They are  trying to obtain information, most likey to commint fraud

They call me several times a day and leave no messages when I have an answering calls.

Got a call this evening in Belize from this unfamiliar  number. As soon as I said hello, the caller hung up. Suspecting it was a questionable # I researched and found indeed it was.
