- R - Jan 31 2008Received a text message from this phone number around 5:30 pm. Didn't recognize it so didn't read it. Talked to my mobile carrier and was told if it happens again to text back "STOP" and if they do it again to let them know and they will take steps to stop it.

- Beth| 1 replyI did call my cell carrier and they are getting tons of calls on the 101 calls being placed just today. He stated it is being investigated and there may be fines and restitution paid. But he wouldn't commit to either.

- charmHope it helps you guys... txtdrop.com sends out messages from this number. I just tried out the service a couple of days ago, tested it on my phone, and this is the number the texts comes from. It's a place that you can send text messages for free from their website.
- EVE replies to megothe message should say "sent by IP" then it will have the IP number. You can look up the IP address on the internet and from that you can see who sent the message or at least where it came from
- BoiseNoise| 1 replyReceived two of these in a row this morning, the first from 1-101-010-0001 and the next from 1-101-010-0002. It states
"FRM: BOTCMESSAGE
MSG:BANK OF THE CASCADES
urgent account verify notification,+unusual activity+,call at 866.461.5670
8:27am1/23/09"
The message from the 01 number was identical, and was received 20 minutes earlier. I actually used my land line to try to call the number given-- just to ask to be left alone!-- but received a message that "all circuits are busy." I'm pretty sure this is phishing, and it disgusts me to have to pay for these messages. :(- Caller: Bank of the Cascades (supposedly)
- Call type: Unwanted
- MaryThe message was Fleet Bank Notice. Possible unauthorized account activity, verify your account onlike at serv1fleetbank.com
- Caller: Fleet Bank
- Mary replies to BoiseNoiseI got both of them too so I searched the internet and found no such company
- ray ray replies to BethThe phone companies are making $$$ on these msgs. DON'T expect them to help.
They pretend they are clueless. My solution was to just suspend my text capabilities in and out. No loss to me but no fees to the phone company..
