Indian guy trying to tell me something's wrong with my computer.  I wasted as much of his time as I could until he finally hung up on me.  Have had this call from many different numbers. 120 area code is not usa, it's India.  AARP magazine states 3.3 million people, mostly seniors, have already fallen for this scam.

This person calls every week and for many months - I am so sick of fraud calls!!! We pay a lot of money for our home phone service so I cannot believe large corps like AT&T cannot do something to make the Federal Government keep them from calling. And with the elections coming up all the unwanted calls that ring all day long for months from politicians from all parties are not welcome in my home either.It is so aggravating when you cannot make the phone unlisted because of friends and family. Because of any emergency, turning the ringer off isn't always a good thing either. So hope someone can do something to alleviate this problem.

Area code 120 is for INDIA.  I do not answer calls from numbers I don't know.  99.9% sure it is a scam call.

Did you bother to read grannyb's report?  It is an unfortunate situation, but no one in the U. S. has any way to get to scammers, spammers, spoofers, etc. coming from other countries.  Legitimate callers will ID themselves and leave a message.  Even my elderly mother, who shows up as "private caller" leaves a message and I call her right back, because I get so many garbage calls.  Also, you might want to warn companies, health care providers, etc. that you don't answer incoming calls without ID.

I have VOIP and can block entire area codes.  Each time I know I'd never get a call from that area, such as India,  I just put a block on it.  If I don't recognize the ID, I figure they'll leave a message if it's important enough.

Don't know who this is. Caller ID comes up, "Name Not Found."

COMPUTER HACKERS

This number has called me by name in the past claiming to be from 'Windows Tech' and that 'they got an alert that my computer has already been hacked.' They wanted me to give them information from my computer so they could show me the problem.

Knowing this was a scam and they were the hackers, I said I didnt have Windows and that I have an Apple computer, she immediately cut in and told me to hold for the Apple Tech Support. At that, I laughed to myself and hung up.

Also, there were a number of callers in the room they were in and the closest person next to her was clearly heard until she muted our call so I would not hear him.

Very convincing for the average person, please never give out info to anybody who solicits it and tries to scare you into it.

@#$%&* criminals. The area code is enough of a tipoff that something's not legit.

My caller ID said Egypt - since I don't know anyone from there I just picked up the phone and set it down.  I will not fall for this !!! Stupid SCAMMERS !!!  Find a REAL JOB and stop wasting our time.

rcvd a call from area code 20-214-8429   called id read unknown. i answered and nobody replied   i hung up.

Depending on your phone service, you can 1) block this phone number i.e. *60 or 2) after you receive the call you can press *(number number i.e. *57) and it will report the call back to the police department.  This is called 'call trace' or similar name.  You can also press * (number number i.e. *77) to reject calls that do not identify themselves.  Check with your phone service for these options.
