- DendiThis call had no caller ID and kept ringing for about 2 minutes; then left no message. I do not answer calles that don't identify themselves. This was obsessively persistent.
- Caller: not listed
- TobiasThis seems to be a caller-id spoofer, because there is no area code 121 in the US. I looked carefully and my phone says the number is "+1 212 777 322" - yes, you read that correct: 212 is area code for Manhatten and there is a digit missing in the phone number! How can this not be illegal?
- JMOwho are these people? anyone know? Got two phone calls today!
- NickThe Indian accent caller said that he is at Microsoft in California service center and my computer has a virus that sends him bad messages. When I asked how he got my phone number, he answered that it was based on my IP address (not believable). When I asked to send an e-mail to my computer with his problem, if he knows my IP address, he put me on hold and hung up. The number was having an Ecker W. identity. It was clear a phishing scam. Is this an "8x8 Call Center Software" related call or an 800notes call?
- Caller: Ecker W.
- GeorgeI got a call from that number too. Asian accent mail asked me if my computer was running well. Because of he received an information that I have downloaded some type of viruses. Seemed suspicious and I hung up on him. Because of the number 121-277-7322 doesn't exist. The area code 121 is not in US. But if you assume that 1 is US code, then it missing one digit.
Does anyone knows if they are legit? - Joey2xI got an annoying spoof call from 121-277-7322 on Jan 10, 9:30 am.
Claimed he was Microsoft. In a strong Desi accent: "We are getting error messages from your computer. Have you been getting any error Microsoft error messages on your computer? ".
We are asked to believe that Microsoft is now starting to call Joe Schmoe because it has a mystery message? We do not think so.
No, this is not 1-212- from Manhattan. 121 is the area code for Birmingham England.
Perhaps we could play with these callers by asking for a call back number and problem reference number. If this is not amusing then perhaps just ask them to hold for a moment while we get to our desk and then place them on indefinite hold.- Caller: "Microsoft" - fake
- zmarieRec'd call on my cell with this number. Caller ID said the origin of the call was Morocco. Didn't answer the call as there is no one that I want to talk to in Morocco.
- Caller: ?
- jack adamsCalled my home phone at 530 AM didn't recognize so didn't answer. Glad I didn't. My comps are all Macs anyhow.
- Caller: ecker, w
- tbcFemale caller with accent said she was from Microsoft with information about a problem with my computer. Have recvd 3 such calls over the last 2 weeks, each time after an Amazon purchase - which is a strange coincidence..... The past 2 times, I have acted very concerned and then said "wow - that's weird that you would get a message like that - we are Mac users." They hung up. Very satisfying to beat them at their game. Today I asked for a call-back number in case we were disconnected since of course I want to be sure we fix this thing.... *click*.....
- StarrI received a call from Ecker, W with the phone # 1-121-277-7322. I did not answer, and there was no message left.
- Caller: Ecker, W
- OBXluverGuy with accent saying he's from "Microsoft technical department". I have been getting these with various numbers showing, Once they had hacked the fax line to a local restaurant that we use. Since I have family all over the world I answer calls and get these calls 2 or 3 times a week. I just yelled at him "For the love of God"! He hung up. I called our state consumer protection agency and they said there is nothing they can do since they change numbers constantly it is like playing whack -a-mole! HATE THESE PEOPLE! I sure wish the Call Type had Scam as one of the choices!
- Caller: "Microsoft Technical Department"
- Call type: Prank
- Chris SamsonNobody on line. Got a recorded goodbye. Keeps calling though.
- kathyI have been getting calls from this number also about a Microsoft computer security problem (caller had strong Asian accent). It happened after I left an Amazon Review. The same thing happened independently to both my mother and sister living in Canada after they left Amazon reviews.
- GregThis is a total scam. There is no way Microsoft calls people to tell them something is wrong with their computer. This is what is known as a phishing scam, they're trying to get information out of you to steal identity.
- Caller: Ecker, W
- Call type: Telemarketer
