A woman with a strong accent called to say my computer was infected.  Said she was calling from Houston, Texas.  I asked if she was from Microsoft and she said no, they did technical work for Microsoft. I said I wasn't giving her information about my computer and then she said she worked for Microsoft.  I said you just told me you didn't work for Microsoft but then she insisted she did.  Hard to believe that with the millons of computers out there, Microsoft would call to tell me my computer was infected.

there is no area code 121 so I didn't pick it up, they didn't leave a message

I also received this phone call.  It was a scam to get money off of you.  I phoned Microsoft and they said they wouldn't phone you unless you phoned them first.

This is a scam. They usually say they are calling from Windows. Windows is an operating system created by Microsoft. There is no company called windows. They want you to remotely connect to a site where they then take control of your computer. My mother is 87 and gets these calls constantly. Today they happened to call when she was having computer problems. Thank god she called me first to verify she was getting a call from her internet provider. Tell them where to Go!
