Adam Wilson claimed to be calling from Bell and said there was malware on my computer, unbeknownst to me but known to Bell, so they were cutting off my internet for 2 months to ensure it was all gone. "Please confirm the license number for your computer for me". Scary thing was when I hung up, he called back and I could not hang up as he overrode the phone continuing to talk to me. After I called Bell to report the scam, he called back on another number, this one with a legitimate area code. I managed to get him off the phone and took the phone off the hook for the night.

These calls had ceased for a short time but has begun again.  They CLAIM they are calling for Microsoft but are clearly foreign.  They will continue to try to talk over you the entire time you are on the phone with them and when challenged, become verbally abusive.  Obviously this is a scam but I worry that older people could fall for the high pressure.  No company name appears - only not available.  They are cycling through states again.  If you have an older loved one that is online at any point, PLEASE tell them to simply hang up.  Once they get the desired information they will gain access to that computer and can hijack things like credit cards and online banking - including PAYPAL.

A scammer who could barely speak English, called last night 6:39 at p.m.
I couldn't understand him, so asked, 'three times,' WHAT!
I knew it was another scammer but couldn't figure which one. They call so often.
After the fourth attempt, I heard the word, Microsoft, and was certain he was a scammer. These jerks called before.
I said, I don't use Microsoft. He asked, 'what do you use,' so I told him it's none of his damned business and to stop calling. Then disconnected.

Where in the world is the area code 121 used? lol

I too feel sorry for the elderly. Most are too trusting.
Local papers and news should report these scammers. Every time I read about another poor soul who ripped off, 'from various scammers,' I suggest the above.

I don't allow them to talk over me. If one is persistent, I crank up the volume on my stereo then place the phone nearest the speaker.
