Third call today. Tried to block without success! Called at 9:AM, 4:PM, and again at 6:18PM. No message left on telephone. Shows Not Available.

We've received 8 calls during the day while we were at work over one week.  Today, Saturday, we received a call at 7:45 AM informing us that our Windows PC was infected and needed to be fixed.  He said his name was Ben Teller and he was calling from the Microsoft Windows Service Center in Indiana, which is not a Microsoft company.  I don't believe any of what he said.  Read on for why.

I decided to have some fun and strung him along for a while.  He couldn't tell me which computer it was or the OS of the computer.  I asked him about the specific error code and he said they identified my PC by its CLS-ID, which is a way to uniquely identify a computer, and that only my computer and Microsoft knows this number.  Of course, this was a crock and I was done by now, so I explained that the CLS-ID is a GUID used on a local computer to provide unique values to classes registered on the system and there are thousands of them in the system registry on any PC.  i then informed him that I was a developer and Senior DBA and probably knew more about computers than he did.  In retrospect, i wish I would have strung him along a little more and tried to gather more information.

Buddy of mine strung one of these guys on and was finally told to F@#$ Off!

received  2  calls in one hour       have blocked it   hopefully  ,     I hope some how  this  number  gets useable , and maybe  the person behind  it is jailed   for years        not happening  but one can hope

These people are calling from spoofed numbers every number I block they call from a new number. I will never answer have 7 numbers they have called from call 5 or 6 times a day sick to death of these S.O.B',S why can't the
Government do something about these scumbags. Never answer they won't stop buy call blocking unit or disconnect phone that's the only way you will get any peace
