got call and someone left message to ask me call the number and also gave me a quote. but i called the number and gave the quote, they could find anything.

received message from this number, 1300789979, was asked to return call and quote a ref number which was my surname and the numerals 400.  was told to ask for Joel.  i did not return the call.

the number belongs to National Credit management. It is the policy/habit/trick not to leave their business name in the message as you might not call them back. also, the phone never rings, its always a message that is left. whats the deal there.

Called my mobile. When I called back they asked who I was.  I said well u tell me who you are first! Instill got charged for it

Received the same as an SMS, requesting I call them back "to discuss an imprtant issue" etc. As I live overseas and pay no bills in Australia, and hence owe no money here or anywhere, This can not be a legitimate company! Just another annoying interruption of my privacy!

I have been receiving calls from this mobile number 0408 444 716  on and off for the last month or so and lately they have started leaving messages saying to call the 1300 789 979 as they have an important issue to discuss (with a specific number to quote). When I try to call I get a dead line.  I pay all my bills on time and online, so I receive emails as well for my utilities. I changed my number last year and Telstra ensured me it was a 'new' number not a recycled one, so they are definitely after me.  Very annoying.

i got this message exactly a year ago, and then again today. i dont return calls unless a company leaves a voice message. anyone know who it is?

Received hundreds of missed calls from private number and a message asking me to call the 1300 number to discuss important issue, when they asked who I was I told them they called me so they should know who I am by providing reference number, she hung up on me then.

I was quite hesitant to return this call after reading the comments above, but I figured it was better to investigate than end up with a bad credit rating (even though I didn't think I had any outstanding bills). The person who answered my call asked me to provide my name and I was then asked to provide my DOB and address. I was reluctant to do without further information, so the caller told me who they were calling on behalf of (but couldn't disclose specifics until I gave the information). Whilst not regarding debt collection in my case, I suspect they may also cover that area. I understand people's desire to dodge debt collectors, but it's really not worth it in the long term!

I’ve been receiving several missed calls from private numbers and then I got a text message to call them back. They said they were “ APPLE “ LOL
