calls and hangs up

I don't know anyone in Iowa

Called me at 17:38 (UK time) but I didn't answer as I am aware of costs etc. What came up on screen was: +1 (515) 553-060 IA, USA
I was just wondering what this is as I have heard it is a scam. I wouldn't be silly enough to answer calls from the US anyway as I am in the UK.
I googled the lettering and it said it was Iowa, which I have no idea where that is. I also wonder how they have my number as well.
If anyone finds anything out, please let us all know as it is kinda freaking me out.

I've also received a call @ 18.53 (UK time) which I did not answer and exactly the same displayed +1 (515) 553-060 IA, USA. If anyone has any ideas or finds anything out about this number it would be great to know :-)

Got the same number @ 13.05 (UK time). Not stupid enough to answer.

I also had a phone call tonight at 19:56, I have relatives in Iowa so I answered and just heard a beep! Hope ive not been charged :(

Same thing at 10:35 (UK time). Didn't answer but would like to know what it is.

Same here, 1043 UK time. I'm on O2. Never been to Iowa, don't know anyone there.

I answered having rushed to my mobile (as was in another room & expecting a call) without looking a caller ID. Someone with an English accent spoke and knew my first name. Told me he was from a finance/debt company which I didn't note, and said he could help me reduce my debt payments by 70%. I told him I wasn't interested and he simply said thanks and that was that. Then I noticed the caller ID and became a bit suspicious due to it saying the call was from Iowa. I am also on o2 & the call was recieved at 10.54 UK time.

Same caller from IA USA @11:05- I didn't answer- I'm on O2.

I've just had the same thing, also on O2, didn't answer, have been rung twice, any clues?

I've had the same called just earlier on my phone (10:54 UK time), but didn't answer it. I'm also on O2 - is this becoming more than just a coincidence?

Had call at 1125 - very strange.  Also on O2

I had one at 10.34 UK time...  also on O2

Just received same call from the States only moments ago. I'm on o2.

Same at 10:37 UK time on O2 network. Did not pick it up.

Same on O2 just now 11:37 am fri 13th didnt answer

Me to at 11:39 picked up beep and hung up also with O2
