some one called and asked for me and just hanged up the phone.

It was progressive financial services. i figured it was. but right after they call my cell they call the house phone.

The person who calls refuses to tell me who the company is and refuses to put her supervisor on the phone.  She is very argumentative and rude.

Progressive Services will keep nagging you !  So put them on your "Do not Call list" &  problem is GONE!

Caller: Progressive Financial (debt collector), Tempe, Arizona.
These crafty devils are using caller ID software that intentionally and deceptively sends out their number as 186-648-4021. Take the "1" off the FRONT of the string of numbers (186-648-4021) and add it to the END to get (866-484-0211). This is the actual number they are calling from (see Better Buisness Bureau website:Progressive Financial, fourth number down the list).
Why would a reputable company do this? 186 is an invalid area code that most caller id blocking services cannot recognize and thus cannot block. The actual # they are calling from is toll free (866) 484-0211 but the number will show as 186-648-4021.

Keep getting calls from this number((186-648-4021))..People are very disrespectful..Keep telling these people "wrong number" but they keep calling ..and I am on the "do not call list"..Why?????So aggravating!!!!!!10/28/2010

Thank you Jeff. I am receiving calls from these people every day for weeks now. I have yet to answer a call and will simply block the numbers now. It didn't make sense to me until you explained it. There is no earthly reason for a debt collector to call me.  I'm happy to be debt-free for the first time in my life! Screw them!

This is Progressive Financial Services, a junk debt buyer.  They call constantly asking for someone I have never heard of.  Why don't they spend a couple bucks and do a minute's worth of research to verify if the number they are calling is still valid and currently belongs to the person they are looking for?  Especially when they're calling about ten year-old or older debts?
