I have had 2 missed calls from this number. Freaking me out!! Wont answer it and defo wont call back. Anyone any ideas??

Answered it and it was a man of indian origin asking me to put in a claim for missold ppi.  

Very miltant, wouldnt take no for an answer!

Someone has been selling details for a premium me thinks.

This is a company calling itself the U Group, trying to get you to reclaim PPI, cold calling for this service is illegal. Their contact details are: Floor 1, Mander House, Mander Centre, Wolverhampton, WV1 3NH, +44 1902 371 547, website http://www.uclaim4me.co.uk/contact-us.php as regards the Canadian number with an Indian accent, probably using a dodgy Indian call centre and spoofing the originating number to get you to answer. Very Very Dodgy company who will do almost anything to get details from you. They buy numbers from possibly illegal sources. When they call, ask them to hang on for a second while you switch off the TV and just put the phone next to the radio or something and walk away, they have paid for your number and are paying for a long call, they will get the message eventually.

I have recieved 2 calls in the last week. If they are doing this illegally, who can we report them too?

Claims management companies are licensed through the Ministy of Justice. Contact them through the website www.justice.gov.uk and submit a complaint, you may be able to submit a complaint to the Information Commissioners Office if you have not given permission for them to contact you, use the website http://www.ico.gov.uk/complaints.aspx

i received a call from this number today. even thougg my dad lives in newfoundland, i didnt answer. glad i didnt after reading this!

I received a call today 1st October, annoying people who should not be sold on peoples mobile numbers.

this is def very dodgy, i saw the not above about this being from wolverhampton. Im actually from wolves myself and if you remove all the nonsense from the number it is actually a local wolverhampton number +1 (902) 371-549 is just 01902 371-549 which is a local wolves dialing code. So have obviously put some screen on the number to try and trick you into answering the call.
i just tried to call that number out of interest and got the out of office message for the U Group.
it is def something very dodgy about this group!!!

Had missed call today also. This company UGroup are a real pain in the backside. Consistantl changing numbers so OFCom cannot trace. Ministry of Justice complaint will be filed tomorrow! Wish I had realised that before! See Markies comments above!

I have the same thing Indian chap asking me about PPI I keep putting the phone down on them but they have my home number as well and wont leave me alone there should be a law against this harassment......
