- Sthan Diwe| 2 repliesGot calls March 26, March 28, and March 29. Did not answer. No message left. Does anyone know who it is from? I do not call back such numbers when I have no idea who it is.
- kat| 1 replysomeone with presumably and Indian accent keeps calling and saying that my computer is infected and they want me to go to my computer so they can walk me thru the process to fix it. I refused and asked who I could speak to to verify who he was and he gave me another NJ number with a 732 area-code when I called it, it was his voice answering stating techinal dept?
- Codimaverick replies to katTo everyone who gets calls from these numbers - they are a complete and total scam. Windows would never call you personnally. I would be worried they want to get all of your personal info off of your computer even more than what they want to charge you. yes, all windows event viewer and other logs will contain harmless errors. They use this to gain favor and trust with you. Just tell them you are calling enforcement on them and report them! This is one of a few different numbers they call from. They ARE A SCAM!!!!
- Davod Fowler2nd time I received a call from this number. Thick Indian accent. Reported to my security provider.

nowhere with an english speaking deficency.- Caller: ubknown
- Sthan DiweJust got another call from this number. I reported previously that I did not answer, and again I did not. However, my voice mail answered and the person must not have realized it. There is a lot of noise, almost like an airport terminal or busy place. Then a voice with a heavy Indian OR African accent says my maiden name, spells it out, and keeps saying "hello?" Obviously it was the same thing I am reading from others. Thanks for letting me know it is a scam artist!
- Caller: Unknown
- MaggieJust got a call from this number at my place of business. He had a strong East Indian accent and thought this was my home. Said he was calling from Microsoft Windows and that my computer was infected. I told him he would need to talk to our IT guy and he hung up. Knew my maiden and married name and where I worked. Could he have gotten it off Facebook?
- Caller: Microsoft Windows (he said)
- MarkMy wife fell for this scam and it ended up costing us about $200. They want remote control of your computer and act like they are doing some kind of repair/scan. DO NOT allow them access to your computer!!!!!! BEWARE!
- CaPOh GOD, SCAMMERS FOR SURE! Called the house phone number because some problem with "current Windows program user problems", later on the office line. Have to admit we have been having such problems so maybe it is a Windows sponsored hoax. House phone call was an illiterate speaking foreigner, broken conversation that the line was was disconnect (3:36 P.M); same exact number on the business line was a well understood 'American speaking person' that hung up after stating I had a previous call (4:13 P.M.).
I track all calls & have a log (date, time & which number called), hope others do also when the eventual litigation will start; I will not take part in a class action suit for the peanuts one would get & will hold out for what truly is deserved that Attorneys capitalize one.
No use calling the number back; I tried from both numbers & .....typical, number not available, contact your operator for further assistance.
Needless to say, sick of such b.s. & taking a proactive role- Caller: Name Unavailabe
- AishaJust got a call from this number (201-155-2012) at my home where I run a small business. The caller had a strong Indian accent- said he was calling from Microsoft Windows and that my computer wanted to assist me by doing a scan of my computer- that he was sure was infected. Claimed that Norton and the other programs I use to protect my computer against viruses and malware was not enough.. I told him I have my own tech support person that I consult with-- he again invoked Microsoft and how many complaints they've had from customers using Windows OS (LOL!) I strung him along and told him to call me back tomorrow night at the same time.. buying time to confirm my own suspicions that this is (of course) a HOAX! Microsoft NEVER calls customers directly!!
- Caller: Microsoft
- Call type: Telemarketer
- kellyI received a call from this number 11/19/12 from an Indian accent guy. He said I had a virus on my windows computer and he wanted my info on my computer to walk me thru the virus software. When I told him we use Apple he hung up.
- Caller: said it was Windows
- L AllisJust got a call from this number and it is the 3rd call (all from different numbers). Had Indian accent and I told him not to call me anymore and he started arguing with me. I know it is a SCAM and the last one I got was 2 days ago at 7:30am from a California number calling again about my Windows computer. How can we stop these crooks? Do we call our Attorney General or what? I am sick of these calls and cannot believe how many people they will con into doing their instructions so they can have remote access to your computer. If anybody has a number I can call to report this I would appreciate it.
- Caller: Don't Know Just calling about my Windows computer
- Joan M. CornelisonI received a call on Saturday, 11/24/12. I listened to him, followed a few directions, but hung up. I did not trust his spiel.

- MendyMy parents have gotten this phone call many times over the past month or so. My Mother hangs up on them, I kinda played him out a bit, he wanted to walk me through how to fix our computers. I'm sure he did! Scam, someone needs to get ahold of this man, and put his harasssing butt in jail!!
- GivemeabreakIf your with Telstra you can contact Nuisance calls 1800 805 996 - this is a scam, be proactive and block this number ASAP. I told whoever it was that I would be reporting them toThe Australia. Securities Commision, was the only thing that would come to me to say and they quickly hung up.
- TraceyGot a call from this number on our home line, as above, stating she was from Windows & wanted me to access my computer & walk me through the problems I had. Very thick Indian accent, & when I asked her where she was calling from she stated Sydney. My telephone listed the number as overseas. She said I could call (02) 80147207 to verify the truth. I will be reporting this to Telstra. She sounded very suspicious so I did not pursue her request. Grrrrrrrr!
- Caller: Windows
- Marshall CreightonThe exact same thing just happened to me that other writers have reported. Thick Indian accent, told me my computer was sending information to them that it had a virus, and was being slowly destroyed. Then the caller told me to log onto my computer, access the internet, and access a specific address. Thankfully, I was suspicious, and asked for verification that they were legit. I was told that I had to go through the internet to do that. I asked enough questions that they hung up on me. I did an internet search immediately and found this webpage. The number was listed simply as "unlisted," so I have know idea from where they were calling. Another red flag: They thought I was using a laptop, but I own a desktop, and also assumed I use Windows, but I have a Mac.

- AnnoyedWhen I answered they asked for Mrs Samuel Caruso, we've been getting a lot of collection calls for this person for the past couple months so I knew right away that it wasn't a legit call. As soon as he mentioned Microsoft windows in his heavy indian accent I knew just which scam it was. So I decided to have some fun and waste their time. I played dumb, acted like I didn't know what a start menu was, pretended I was following his instructions and when he was asking what I saw I kept telling him "a cow a chicken and a goat"
(I was playing farmville). He was VERY confused. After about 20 minutes of this I finally let him know that I wasn't falling for his scam and he was pissed. He cursed at me and hung up. I'm hoping I wasted enough of their time that they won't bother to call me back.
