- Sue| 1 replyJust got a call on CELL from this number. Something about lowering credit card rates. Does not name the company.
- FedupinNHOver the last 3 weeks I've been receiving calls from a wide variety of numbers that all list people's names but when you call the number back you can't get through. They are all associated with Card Member Services. From what I understand they were getting a lot of FCC complaints against their normal number so they've started spoofing other numbers (which is VERY illegal). I wish there was a way to shut these people down! My number is unlisted and unpublished and I don't own a single credit card so they have no business calling me but they do. All hours of the night!

- M.Telegdy| 2 repliesanother "unwanted call"....why is there a "no CALL LIST, if this people take the liberty of bothering others. I never purchased anything over the phone, I never accepted any CC offers or such, I don;t need nobody;s service, if I need something I know where to go. I don't want to refinance, I don;t want to lower my CC % rate (I actually do NOT use CC) what they want from me....WHY IS this INSANITY of calling people and bothering them? I have a phone for my own use, when thie numbers I keep complaining about on a daily basis, will pay my phone bills they will be welcome to call.....
- Caller: Yamada Shuchi

The DNC does not possess a magic switch that can stop calls from bothersome/unwanted callers. However, YOU do!
Yes, indeed - every modern phone (both landlines and cells) has a cunningly placed, magic switch that can cut off those nasty calls. Here are some ways you can use it:
Technique #1, requires NO action on your part, automatically switches the call:
If you have Caller ID (CID), and see a number you do not recognize, DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE. Instead, let the call go to your answering machine or voicemail.
Technique #2, for those people who MUST pick up the phone:
If you hear a telescammer, immediately hang up. Activate that "OFF" switch manually!
But wait ... there is more! If you pay attention for the next few minutes, you can get your very own AUTOMATIC switch that will block calls from those nasty folks. That's right, it will block ALL calls from the numbers YOU designate, for only pennies a week!
And, here it is ... simply google "phone blocker". You will soon see a list of phone blocking apps, devices, and telephones that provide the "magic switch" for which you were wishing!
Google "phone blocker" right now, and end your dependence on a misunderstood Government Do Not Call list. Create YOUR OWN Do Not Call list, and rely on your own ability to identify those telescum who bother you. Then, next time you get a repeated call from a telescammer, you can blame yourself for not blocking that number the first time it called.
You say you are not satisfied? You want more for your money? Well, for a limited time, you can google "call blocker" and see if there is any difference between that search and the one you used for "phone blocker". All it costs is a few keypresses, and should keep you happily occupied for an indeterminate time, as you read about all the devices and apps you have been missing.
Advanced users of this magic switch should recognize the Federal Do Not Call list is effective only for legitimate telemarketers. Telespammers ignore the list. However, those telescum cannot ignore YOUR list, since you can block ANY incoming call with a simple button push! Get your daily exercise by pressing that button. Burn calories, strenghten your fingers!
Tell your friends and neighbors about this "magic switch". Share numbers. Make more friends and influence people. You too can be the life of the party line by blocking unwanted callers. Empower YOURSELF! Take control!
and, have a nice day. - mary| 1 replydon't waste money on a phone blocker. you don't need to pay to block these calls. just Google the phone number to make sure it's not from anyone you may actually want to speak with. if not, save the number in your phone by naming a contact "Nuisance". turn your "Block Caller" option on so that the calls go directly to 'declined'.
the real beauty in this is, whenever any other company calls using ANY phone number, just save it to "Nuisance" under a different phone number. if you run out of places to store numbers, just open a new contact, "Nuisance 2", etc., etc.
it's saved me a lot of aggravation. good luck...- Caller: 201-224-0414
- scottreceived a call from this number. no person on the other end.
- KimReceived a call from them. No caller id, other than "New Jersey". Didn't answer - no message left.
- G replies to SueI also just got this call and I own no credit cards. When I asked which agency they were calling from they listed a few major lendors. I said Ok now which card are you calling me about? and he hung up on me. I would love to know how to lover my rate on a card I don't own. NO CREDIT CARDS! Blocked the call idiots
- Kplan23 replies to SlimAll worthwhile suggestions but the problem goes beyond the repeat scammers. There are the 5 new numbers that call every day.
Call blacklisting devices still let calls reach your home and ring once depending on the unit. They don't block the caller. They silence the ringer and still allow the caller to leave a message.
A better solution is to change the laws and force the telcos to offer unlimited true blocking directly from your phone. Blocking area codes would greatly reduce the amount of numbers you would need to block and has the advantage of being preemptive. If I could block all (321) numbers before they call I wouldn't have to block them individually the first time they call. The telcos should be required to keep an internal block list and when a certain threshold of users block a number the telco should block the number system wide. They should also be required to share these lists with other telcos. The scam calls would be severely curtailed. - Kplan23 replies to maryThat's fine for cell phones, but not for landlines.
- Bub17I don't answer callers I don't recognize.
10/15 at 04:46. - Tired of NonsenseGot a call from Shuci Yamada, about lowering my credit card rates..... it's too bad I don't have any credit cards.... when they were informed not to call again, they hung up
- Caller: Never gave a name
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Walt GlassNobody is asking where these clowns get our numbers in the first place.
I get these calls all the time. The solution is not in modifying phones so much as it is in modifying the laws that govern
information sharing. Banks, grocery stores, government agencies, any large retail chains, cell phone carriers and even hospitals all share your info and treat the act of doing so as a free revenue stream (this website probably does too). Just read those 'terms of service'.
Cut off the info sharing and problem solved. - Gettysburg GhostThe name Yamada Shuchi shows up along with this number. DK the person, don't answer the call
