This is one number that has been calling our home number.  Please check this out.

I believe its NES debt collector. I get the same phonecall even tho I have no debt.

This number also connects to National Enterprise, claiming to represent debt collection for Sallie Mae and also claims to be able to settle debt from charge-offs for a reduced amount.  They also will mention legal action as a scare tactic to get you to send money.

Only lawyers can file legal action and it is a violation of the law for any company that is not a legal entity to threaten you with legal action.

Call your Loan company to verify that this company is authorized to collect debts for them and if they did in fact charge off a debt and will settle for a lesser amount.

It's also a FEDERAL OFFENSE for ANY person to represent themselves as the debtor without actually holding the instrument of debt..... it, the ORIGINAL BILL!

Simply ask them to send you an original invoice/bill for this debt. If they cannot then tell them to take a hike. They cannot even prosecute without holding the debt instrument.

BEST way to get rid of them is THEN start asking for mailing addresses and who the President of the company is so you can follow the law (like they ARE NOT) and notify them in writing not to call you anymore.

I promise you, a couple of these and they will NEVER call you again.
