- Drew| 1 replyCalled my cell at about 7:30 P.M. Foreign Gentleman said that it was U.P.S. calling for an employee of a technology firm named "fifi".
- Caller: U.P.S.
- CindySame here, lady from UPS about setting up an account to send out small packages. Had my full name! UGH!!! I hate these scam artist!
- Caller: UPS
- Woody| 1 replyhad the missed call - called it back for fun and it said it was a non-working number for UPS and to call another number, which was an actual UPS number. those scammers are getting crafty. UPS should pursue this as fraud, since the caller is representing themselves as UPS. but then again, aren't ALL scammers fraud cases?
- Call type: Telemarketer
- mistI got the same call yesterday at 4pm and again today at 10am. no one was on it today! Pisses me off that they can keep calling when my number is on the do not call list!
- InTheKNowIt is UPS Freight. Not the small package area, but LTL freight. For the uninformed, LTL = Less Than Truckload. The call-back number is a courtesy toll free number. Purpose of the call was a follow-up customer service inquiry to the establishment of a new rate tariff. Hey 800notes - how about a better and less mis-leading drop-down selection for legit calls?
- Caller: UPS Freight
- Mark| 1 replyIt's not a scammer. It's UPS. In my case, it was a call from UPS Freight because I had UPS set me up with a UPS Freight account and they just wanted to find out how I was making out with it and if there was anything they could do to help.
Seems pretty legit to me. I suspect this outgoing number might actually be used for other UPS related functions like damage claims or other uses.
You crazies need to relax a bit. It's not a scam.- Caller: UPS
- Lost ChocolateREAL UPS. Following up on my lost chocolate package. Relax people!
- Caller: UPS
- Frustrated SueI am so sick of these jerks calling all my phones multiple times every day! They are using up my minutes!!!!
- Caller: Card Services
- JodiIt does not appear to be a scam; if so all they managed to get out of me is my email address. It is a third party organization making calls on behalf of UPS to discuss my companies UPS account and how we can save money shipping with them. They did not ask for any private information or my UPS account number so I can't imagine that they could scam me.
- Caller: UPS
- Business GuysJust got a call from someone claiming to be my 'new local UPS rep' and wanting to get a better idea of what our business does. I noticed the NJ phone number and asked why if he was local did it say NJ? He claimed itr was just a 'random number' generator, and I said you call me back from a number that says UPS and I'd feel a lot more comerftable talking to you. MAYBE it was legit, but my father's compnay got scammed once by somone calling up, getting the head engineer's name, then having some huge shipment of oil delivered under his name, which the guys on the dock accepted while he wasn't there.
- Caller: Supposedly UPS
- Mike JacksonIt is actually a UPS phone number. They were checking on a package that I sent overseas and they called to tell me that it got delivered after being one day late.
- Caller: United Parcel Service
- JPThis is NOT a scam. My company recently opened a new UPS account. This call was a courtesy call from a UPS call center just checking to see how happy we were with our new service. No need for the paranoia!
- Caller: UPS
- Major EckardtReceived same call at 1400 yesterday. On this base you better NOT be a scammer, or we will find you, and if you are running a scam you will not want ME to find you and I WILL FIND YOU.
This is not a scam, it is UPS.

- Numbered CalledReceived a call from Gerald Keeler (left a msg. ) saying he's handling my account, he wanted to talk about ways to lower the bottom line. He did not introduce his company name, so I have no idea what "account" he's talking about nor what company he's actually from. Left a phone number to call him back on 866-248-7643 ext. 2024. The caller ID came in as 201-252-9111. I've been trying to search online to see what company it's from, but unable to.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Stoned CrabIt is UPS. Sounds like an overseas accent. Calling about shipping.
Legit caller.- Caller: UPS
- Sandra J replies to WoodyThis is not a scam. It is UPS trying to contact the sender or receiver of a package with either information or requesting more information. I work for a retailer, I just got this call saying a package we sent was damaged. I tracked the item and that detail is on the tracking report.
- Sandra J replies to MarkYou are correct. I just got a call (I work for a retailer) and it was in regards to a damaged package. I tracked the package and the report is there confirming. I assume the # is not a working number because look how many people will call back! You're right... crazies!
- Debbie's Freedom Tobacco replies to DrewThis is UPS. I have an account and they use this number sometimes but you can not call them back on this number. You must call your UPS representative.
- not falling for it| 1 replyto all of those people who are saying it is a legit number and that you received a phone call from your local representative... You're full of crap!
how many times have you gotten a legitimate call from a company and decided to check out the number to see if it was a scam...NEVER!!!!
these guys are a bill collector; they had my name in my phone number toma about an account that I could just set up with UPS. However I said that it was one of many phone numbers that was tied to your account, yet when he searched again, wow sadly my phone number was not attached to the account and that's why they were calling me!!!
well how did they get my phone number, if it was not on the account.!!
it is either a well played out scam... Or a bill collector!!!- Caller: UPS
- Call type: Debt collector
- Thia replies to not falling for itOr it IS legit for some and a spoofed call for others. There's a LOT of this seemingly happening on numbers regarding banks/fraud alert (I was even called a shill for posting that I'd received a legit call from AmEx *snort*), but as technology grows, so do the scams. Due diligence, people - it's your responsibility. Every single comment on this post may be real, or all may be fake.
CYA - don't give out information, call numbers under your control (i.e.; the number on your UPS shipping documents), and if something feels wrong, it's okay to ask questions.
