I am selling somethig and got a text from this number. Is it a scam

We are selling something as well  (a boat). We live in Canada. Got a text from this no. with a message to send an email to this guy's mom with the info. This guy is suppose to be in Maylasia. The mom is prepared to buy the boat sight unseen and have it shipped to Maylasia. She wants to pay by PayPal,  It really sounds like a scam but we're not sure how it would work when they are purchasing from us.

They called me at 6 am, got a txt, with e mail address ashleywalters35@gmail.com it's a scam, yes I also have a boat for sale

Same thing with the same email address for me - don't you just hate these scam a/holes.  There's been a lot on kijiji lately.

Same im selling my boat on there .. Isent paypal the safest money transfer tho?

We are selling a boat as well and were contacted by these people. What happens is that she will say that she has transferred the money to your paypal account and adds the shipping on to it as she says paypal instructs her to do that. She then expects you to pay the shipper in maylasia and then paypal will release the funds to your account. You will even get an email from paypal(fake) I contacted the real paypal and they confirmed it is a scam and that if someone pays you it will how up on your paypal account right away!!!
