this is a debt collection-  lawyers cawley & Bergman

They are calling daily asking for someone who doesn't live here and I've never known anyone by that name. Called and left a message on their VM that they had the wrong number...still call.

Anyone know how to stop these people from calling? Not only do I not know the person they are looking for I have 0 debt (not even a CC).

I went to their web site and attempted to use the "Contact Us" email link and number for the complaint Hotline.  The complaint hotline goes to the same stupid debt collection message as all other numbers.

The email addresses they provide for complaints and inquiries are bogus and mail bounced back.
There is something really shady about this group. I suspect that they are more identity theives than debt collectors, otherwise wouldn't their business be more professional?

Company would not identify who they were, and was asking for someone whom I do not know.  They continue to call, even after being asked to stop.

They are constantly calling, asking for someone who does not live here, never did and they will not stop even after repeated requests to do so.

If you wish for the to stop contacting you, send them a Cease & desist letter telling them they can no longer contact you except in writing. If they contact you after that then they are violating the FCDPA and you can sue for harassment.

I have never heard of you quite calling me. Or I am going after harassment charges on the company.

Creepy man calls me and my husband. We never answer the phone. Says how excited he is to be able to present us with a special offer from his 'client'. Never says what it is about or why he is calling. Then says how shocked he is that we have not responded to this amazing offer. also said he sent us a letter and why have we not responded. NO LETTER ever has been sent. This guys voice makes my skin crawl. If this was a legit company we would have received a letter and more info would be left in a message rather than all his statements that make no sense.  

Not sure what this is about but it sounded like the lady was talking to a coworker.  That was all that was on my answering machine.

They are low level scum bags that try to pick low hanging fruit. DON'T talk to them! They need to send you a dunning letter and when (if) you ever get it just fire back with a "Request for debit validation" letter and make sure you send it REGISTERED MAIL so you have proof that you are requesting validation! Just look on line for some great validation letters. Scum bags like them 90% of the time don't have proper validation to prove you own what they say you owe. Also, NEVER EVER admit to them that you owe anything!! The burden of proof is on these bottom feeders. I've handled these types before and they hate an educated consumer.
