they call and call on my cell phone and don't leave msgs.  When I do answer I get 'hello' and disconnected Who do they represent and how did they get my cell number?

they are MRS a collection agency, usually for old parking tickets...fyi they will also call you from 516-708-4522

the man left the message ' I'll get you" on my message machine and hung up.

Everytime I say hello they hang up and it is at all hours of the day and night. If I owe something I do not know about Please at least answer me when I say Hello!!!It is rude annoying and probably illegal.

Isn't the county were you got the ticket supposed to send you a letter first  if you didn't pay??? These jerks have been calling my house too! We don't have ANY tickets & aren't in debt so i have no idea who the heck these P.I.T.A. are or why they keep harassing my family. This BS has GOT to stop! Why isn't someone doing something about these people?!! I am being victimized & harassed by these scammers & our lovely govt doesn't give a crap. Their DO NOT CALL registry is nothing but a joke!

Folks, these calls aren't made out of the blue - there is a reason why they contact you, and it's tied to either you personally, your address or your phone number (cell or landline - remember, someone else had that number before you too).

They contacted me, and through a little independent thought (remember that?) I figured out it that they were looking for the former owner of my home - so i provided the City where they were heading off to when they sold me the property, and suggested they track them down there (another state)...needless to say, the calls have ceased.

They are not jerks, they are doing their jobs (if you had one, you'd know how touch it is to deal with people like yourselves) - stop cursing long enough to figure this out.

O.k. but, we are the original owners of this house, and we have no traffic tickets. They called when I wasn't home and let no message.

We get calls from this number randomly day and night, just about every day.  They don't respond after, "hello, who is this?".  Honestly, there's just dead silence on the other end of the line.  How can one communicate anything with whomever is calling?  Why are they calling even?  It's a waist of time and a public annoyance.

Society has degenerated into a cesspool because people don't care anymore. These telemarketers know they can pretty much get away w/whatever they want (& don't even go there about these "laws" against them. They might work in some states but they're useless here). This paves the way for all sorts of nefarious folks to use the phone as a means to pull their scams - because it's harder to track them down when they use different numbers from different places; & who has the time/money to keep pursuing these scammers? In regards to your remarks: We are the org owners of the house. If this is a legitimate company, they shouldn't hang up when someone answers or hang up on the machine. The few times we DID get a person, we politely tried to correct their flawed info & even tried to help them locate the person they were looking for in the chance that they would stop calling is. BIG MISTAKE! It didn't make one difference - they still keep calling & harassing us for the same info. Yes, your theory about them worked for you but unfortunately that's not the case here - so please don't make assumptions about people/things when you don't have all the facts pertaining to such. We have tried everything the state told us to do to get these people to stop & NOTHING has worked. What these people are doing is illegal & it is a form of harassment. My apologies if my language from before offended you (wasn't meant to - just don't appreciate being harassed from 6 different numbers from the same company 4-5xs a day for the past 2 yrs with no way to make it stop). Perhaps you can handle such better but it's driving my family crazy. We feel helpless because everything we've tried to do has failed. So pardon me if i'm a little p.o.'ed. I have every right to be, esp since my family has done NOTHING to warrant this treatment - & i don't think i'm alone in feeling this way.

Guys, please don't be ignorant. If a number calls you asking for personal financial information it's called a Phishing scam. There is no MRS collection agency.  Let me rephrase, maybe there is one, but it's just trying to have you willingly give them your information. "Need Handjerk" and "born" if you are in anyway related to the company just be warned that the FBI has been notified.  I hope whoever is running this scam gets their head cut off. Stop trying to rob Americans.

They are calling - no message, won't pick up and answer when told 'hello'******How do you fight a silent telephone caller?

just got probably the 200th call from this number, and there's another 866 number and 978 number that I'm sure is from the same 'person', looking for my daughter who is rarely  home.  Today they actually had a person on the phone, not a recording  - and I believe what he said was against the law - said he was from Providence Municipal Court.  When I asked if the number on my caller ID is the proper number to call back the court, he hung up.

and they call again.

My 14 year old daughter got 6 phone calls on her cell phone in two days, I called the number back (201-297-4632) and spoke to John of MRS. I told him to remove the number OFF of the call list and that whomever they appeared to be looking for is not at that number. He asked if we were the person who they had left on the message. I said we were not. I asked where he had gotten the number. He said that it was given to him????? I told him that for the last two years we had that number. Let's see if the calls cease. You will also get calls from this number as 631-907-6179 and 631-907-6180 they are all MRS.

They are probably looking for the person who had the number before your daughter got it.

We have been receiving calls as well.  Nothing seemed to owed anywhere...  I called and got disconnected the first time...  called back and got a very nice woman who pulled the information up base on phone number and said it was for parking tickets in RI.  I said really???  Turns out they are from 2003 and yes my husband used to work in RI in 2003.  She did not ask for anything from my end for information and when I asked for the courts number she gave it to me along with the ticket numbers so I could contact them directly to handle it.  She was very nice and very helpful.

I just called them back and they said they were looking for someone with my last name with a ticket from Philadelphia, PA. Neither my husband nor I have ever been to Philly. She even told me the street that the office happened. Nope. Not us. Nor any relatives as the ones I married in to all live in the south. She said she would remove my number and not call again. I hope no one does or I'll make a report to the FCC.
