Possibly spoofed number.  Call one of the many fake "I am from Microsoft and need remote access to your computer" scams where organized crime then puts malware on your computer.

Got a very strange call from this number. Alleged they were from Microsoft. Since the accent appeared to be from India it did not seem impossible since they seem to have sent jobs abroad.  Wanted access to my computer to get rid of malware etc..  I hung up and tried to call the number as shown on caller ID. Call could not be completed

Got a call from 201-374-8004 which showed as Dumont, New Jersey.  Guy with heavy accent was mumbling something about my "windows computer."  I could not make sense of why he was calling as he seemed unable to articulate a reason so I hung up.  When I tried calling the number back to see if I could figure out where he was calling from (i.e., which business) I could not get through -- just kept ringing.

I got a call at 3:07, 4:12, 5:10 and 6:10 eastern on 8/25/14  from this number.  Again on 8/26/14 at 3:31.  Claiming my windows PC has malware and they need to fix it.  Thick accent, I'm assuming Indian.  I can't wait for 4:30 . . .

I got these calls too.  Caller says his name is John Wilson, but with thick Indian accent.  When I claimed to not have the windows 4 flag key he put his manager on - his name was Ron Wilson!!  I asked if they were brothers!  I use a Mac, not a PC so I find all of this very amusing and usually try to keep them on the phone as long as possible.  When they realize I am not going to fall for their scam, they curse at me - lovely.

I have gotten many calls from these people.  I tell them to try to find something more meaningful to do with their lives.  We all need a job, but you might be able to find a better one than this!

"Male, Indian accent, called today 8/28/14 and said there were viruses reported at my IP address. He said he was in Tech Support with Microsoft. He asked if I was the main owner. He asked me to go to my computer so he could guide me through the fix. I said, "Send me an email," and hung up on him."

I liked Sally's comments. Next time, maybe I'll have a little fun, play along, and act too dumb to turn on my computer.

They called again today 8/29/14 - this time from number 235-45. Same accent, different guy. I told him my computer didn't have a Ctrl key. Then I started asking him questions: How old are you? How tall? What do you weigh? Do you have a degree? Do you like your job? How much vacation do you get? He answered all my questions, then wanted to know why I asked. I told him I was a recruiter for the military and wanted to send a representative to his house so needed his address and phone number. He lives at 948 Fqurt Street, Washington DC, phone 783-844-0323, name Jayden William, email Kxal2912@gmail.com. First he was 37 years old, unmarried, with children. Then his age changed to 27 after I said I was 35. I told him that 27 was way too old to be single and it was time he settled down and got a wife. We arranged a date for tomorrow in Washington DC with me - and my six children. He might be interested in marriage if I will just cooperate with my computer. Oh, he is 6'1" and 200 pounds (first he said he was 200 dollars) - if anyone is interested! He loves his job and was afraid of losing it if I didn't start cooperating.

2 Calls Today. Same as above, I asked for credentials and he avoiding my question. I asked for the IP Address in question, no answer. He kept trying to get me to go to my
PC and follow his direction, very pushy...

I then asked him what he was wearing and that his voice was sexy, he hung up. Works every time :)

Got a call from 201-374-8004. I was on my computer doing some homework, some lady with a heavy Indian accent called me and said she was calling because they have received an allert that someone was trying to hack my computer. She said she would show me all the problems on my desktop.  We got disconnected, but she was very prompt and called me back right away, this time it was a 586 area code number, showed up as  Michigan. I confronted her about 2 different numbers she was calling from, turns out she was calling from an IP address, they're not allowed to call from a phone number. I got the company name from her,  she said it was Group Resolve.

Man called from this number claiming to provide tech support for computer, he verified how many computers and users in the house. Then he said a senior rep will help me. Then the senior rep came and provided a fake name and asked me how old the computer was. I said 2 years old and then the guy asked me what I see on the screen. After that I heard him say a few words in Hindi/Urdu and he hung up.

They call here up to 5 times a day with the same number as above and also with an unknown number and even comes up as 000-000-0000.  My daughter races to the phone just to gives these guys harassment as many times as they have harassed us.  She actually works as a computer tech and has told them she works in the computer fraud department of the FBI. And they still call its annoying I was so irritated with the calls today my daughter grabbed the phone went out side and all you hear is aloud air horn go off as she comes back in the house laughing. She was like he will be deaf for awhile. I am actually going to call my phone company and complain since the do not call list doesn't work since all they are doing is spoofing their numbers and robo dialing. She leaves to go back home in 2 weeks and I certainly am tired and fed up with these calls. I actually feel bad for people who fall for this and get ripped off.
