Called my number and left a message stating that they were the IRS and I was being sued...I called the number back and when I told the idiot that I thought this was a scam he cussed me out !!!!

Got same message about being sued by IRS.  I called and told him he had wrong number not to call back.  He told me to F off and hung up.

Yes I got this call from this number yesterday.  It was a robo message saying final notice from the IRS to inform me they were filing a law suit against me.  I won't be calling back!

Same thing basically except that the part about who was "filing a lawsuit against you" was garbled.  I'm pretty sure no one has any grounds whatsoever to sue me for anything at this point in time, but I was curious and ready to tear someone a new one.  I did try to call the number back and it rang and rang.  No answer, no VM.  S C A M!

Everyone who get's this call should report it to the Attorney General, Consumer Protection Dept., for the state you live in!

Yep, we've received several calls from this rude scam but we refuse them and consider them unworthy of my consideration of a call.

Got a scrambled robo call from this number something about being sued final notice.. Haven't called them back. Total SCAM as reported online and by local news in my area.

Got a call from this number stating that they were the IRS and we were in tax violation, not sure of what because those details were not left.  They just left # to call and no case #.  Never call back because 2 week ago we got two call from a Steve Martin on the answer also to call about a tax violation.  Also didn't call becasue I got 2 messages from him back to back with a different number.  This got me thinking to enter the numbers 1st before call and got a message that it was a scam along with this number.

There is a widespread IRS or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both Canadian and USA residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Got a call today saying I would be arrested if I did not pay a back tax bill. Said his name was David Marshall.

I have been receiving these calls for a few months. Different numbers, same message, as well. I did call one back (months ago) and they ask you to leave your name and SS #. The mailbox was full; full of poor people being preyed upon by these horrible people. I contacted IRS. The comment above with links to the IRS is correct. They will NEVER call you first. Always written information. You can report these telephone numbers to the IRS, they are aware of the scam. It has been ongoing for more than a year. Why can these people not be contained?
